Anyone notice when they had the shots of all the clones standing around Kenobi's ship going over their plan of attack for Grevious, that the only clone that appeared to be based of Jango was Cody, the others looked different?

The others were younger clones of Jango. They looked the same as the ones seen in the dining hall on Kamino in AOTC

They also coputer generated the young and older clones to get a combination so there was a "middle clone". It's just Temuara Morrison (Jango) and Bodie Taylor (young clone) features combined to show an in between age.

It had some massive flaws, but it isn't horrible. Best of the prequel trilogy, but that's not saying much.

In terms of acting...yes, Star Wars films aren't perfect examples of great acting, but there are degrees. Acting isn't always 100% good or 100% bad. The OT had acting that was at least, IMO, 80% good at most every single time you look at it. The prequels...I'd say that on a whole, the acting was good about 50% of the time, with RotS having the best thus far. Hayden still acts with the enthusiasm of a cardboard box, and the romance scenes were insufferable.

The battles, as always, were visually pleasing, but there wasn't a whole lot of tension in them save for two: Grievous/Kenobi and Yoda/Sidious. These are also the two fights that had the most character interaction, giving them an original trilogy feel.

Anakin's turn to the Dark Side was too quick, and really the movie seemed a bit rushed overall. But, this is likely the best we're going to get, unless Lucas realizes that it would cost less to retcon these films than the originals.

I noticed a couple of mistakes last night during my second viewing, but these are very minor and almost not worth mentioning:

After Yoda retreats from his fight with Palpatine, clearly he's left his cloak behind. But when we see him on Polis Massa, he has it on again. So unless he kept a spare cloak on Bail Organna's ship, or they dropped back by the temple on their way out to get another robe (lol), this was a mistake.

Also, as Vader's mask is coming down to cover his face, we first see Anakin from a slight distance, and he doesn't have the neck and chin part of his mask on yet. But when you see the closeup of his reaction to it, the neck and chin part of the mask are there.

Like I said, these are minor, minor flaws, but flaws nonetheless. Leave it to an obsessive/compulsive freak like me to notice these things... (lol)

I will say this though; I enjoyed the film much more the second time around. I think it was because I was less engrossed in the story and could just sit back and pay more attention to the action. I absolutely loved it. And Vader's reaction to the death of Padme at the end seemed more fitting than it did the first time I saw it. I guess we all have so many expectations about how Vader acts and behaves, and it was difficult to see him so emotional at first. But now, I still think he's the dark, bad-@$$ villain I've always known, but much more tragic than ever now that we know what happened to him.

I just saw it and I certainly agree that it was better then the crappy two before it, but it still wasn't great. Overall I liked it but parts were just unbareable. All that sappy dialogue - people don't talk like that. They needed a script doctor to fix the dialogue. And Young Skywalker? I got it - he's conflicted. Those scenes were getting really redundant. I also resented the phoned in, useless cameo by Chewbaca. He's a beloved character - use him for something. There was very little personality. And that big ending at Mount Doom - I know I've seen that somewhere before. But the effects were great.

Finally saw it tonight. LOVE the palpatine stuff. The two fights at the end were my favorite saber fights out of all six movies. The only complaints I have are those goofy battle droid voices and the "NOOOO" from Vader. Man I don't wanna nitpick at the little problems because this was such a good movie overall.

Everyone should read the novels it really explains alot more.

The whole thing with Syfo Dias is explained in a novel.

Which novel!! I would very much like to read that!!

yeah i noticed that too. I was disappointed by vader's medical droid, DO NOT ASK ME WHY I BOUGHT THAT PIECE OF CRAP FIGURES, becuase I really don't konw. Same with Polis Massan, they both suck, but I lost the receipt to return them.

just return them and get credit for them.

yes, those figures sucked for they didn't do **** in the movie.

The V-Fighter are the ships that made the Tie noise and are early versions of the tie, though to be honest when you see them up close they dont really look like ties, even early versions.

No I foregt the name Palpatine said, but it wasnt Cody.

It sounded like Carnie to me.

Despite my enjoyment of this movie, my opinion on the choice of the young actor and his portrayal of Anakin Skywalker, still stands.......he SUCKS!

Nothing like what I imagined Anakin to have been before the Darkside took control. Cute kid.....whiney-ass jerk of a teen, with no redeming qualities WORTH bringing BACK from the darkside IMO!

Think of how much everyone likes Han Solo and how disappointed it would have been to have seen hime taken over, possessed by a more evil force, and how WONDERFUL it would have been to see him saved, liked how Luke saved Darth Vader in ROTJ? Wonderful only because I had my imagination working then, on how it mudst have been BEFORE the prequels, but now that I've seen it played out, and realized I didn't like Anakin very much, I could care less. He should have just died STILL evil and rotten like he seemed to be MOST of his life anyway. <_<

yeah i wish they'd have made the prequels w/ more of a focus on anakin during the clone wars (aside from the cartoons....seeing that stuff on screen more than we have would rock) and maybe it would've helped him to come across as being less of a whiny guy and someone more likeable as a hero, etc. i guess i'm just bein nitpicky here, b/c that is a tough script problem to spread out over 3 films and he's done a good job as it is, but given that it's so much open ideas to work with and approach his turn to the dark side, i'd like to know/see how other directors (mainly peter jackson) would've handled it

Here's my two cents to the movie:

Visually stunning--but that is all.

When one takes it and the previous two films into consideration, its the biggest, most expensive cinematic patch-job is movie............nay, storytelling history.

And it doesn't make sense.

All that money, all that time, all those resources........and the RotS absolutely SHREDS The Emipre Strikes back.

The pivotal scene, where Vader reveals that he's Luke's father is hashed now. Zero dramatic weight--its been rendered totally null. Originally, it had build-up, a deliberate orchestration of events and a good pay-off--it has shock value.

Now, the moment is nothing--its like giving away the punch line before you tell the joke. Watching the Star Wars movies in numerical order renders the last two meaningless now--only a imbecile would not see the Vader/Luke scene coming, or be surprised by it.

Its the Achilles heel of the franchise--a slapped-together story with awful dialogue and pretty visual. Sure that's critical, but its pretty much the truth too--it takes nothing away from the visuals though. They remain spectacular--I just wish the heart of the thing--the story--follwed suit.

Heh. I liked the movie. I know that there are things about the movie that a lot of people here liked while others here disliked, but I tried to stay spoiler free and go in without any expectations & therefore found it entertaining after I finally saw it.

While it is somewhat long... if you want to listen to something about the movie, check out the Energon Station radio show.

I saw the movie again last night, and noticed two things that I haven't heard mentioned.

The first thing is Vader himself, who is in a continuity error. Vader actually wears two different costumes in the original trilogy. One, used in a new hope, has the shoulder plates covered by black cloth, and the second, used in ESB and RotJ has the shoulder plates exposed.

Ep. 3 depicts Vader in his ESB/RotJ costume instead of in the one that came first.

RotS:

Secondly, on the control panels on planet Mustafar (sp?) is a rip-off of the Klingon writing from Star Trek.
