Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith

I also wish we could have found out some more about Greivous before he was sorta just there. I mean was he like the result of what happened the first time that Palpatine tried to save somebody

Read Labrynth of Evil, it explains alot about grievous, he was built that way by the seperatists, ummm, he was a war hero on his planet and dooku "if i'm right' had his ship knocked out of space, they made sure he wasn't dead but he'd need help to live, when they made him the robot he is they also did a type of memory wipe and made him believe that the jedi were evil. It's all in the book. Best way to get character development is read the EU. :) I read Labrynth of Evil last week and it put everything in it's place for the movie, just wish I could've seen Clone Wars 2 up here before the movie.

I saw it tonight too, and while I really enjoyed it, there were easily 20 aspects of the movie that went HORRIBLY wrong. @lol@

I really loved the characterization of Obi, Yoda, and Palpatine, ... Anakin's transformation was pretty lame to me, from start to finish.. I get why he went bad, but the portrayal was too forced and completely unbelievable.

The next bad thing is that if you weren't one of the 4 characters listed above, you got absolutely no important play in the film. @lol@

But what I hated the most, what tries to ruin the film in my book, are the death scenes.

Dooku - dies pretty lame, decent fight, quick death.. not so great.

Grevious - gets cut up pretty easily by Obi (who couldn't touch Dooku), and then shot in the heart for a stupid death.

Jedi- WHAT a HUGE INJUSTICE done to ALL FANS!!!!!!!! I thought these guys were supposed to be Jedi Masters!?!?!? Why did they get killed so easily when we have seen Obi and Anakin take on hundreds of droids?? Why couldn't they sense that their clones were turning on them?? Why were they so crappy? Why did Saesee Tin and Kit Fisto die so lame??

Mace died a good death, everyone else's sucked.

Lucas did that same stupid crap that he always does with fan favorites, he kills them like they are worthless droids..

If you like the Jedi characters, watch Clone Wars.. They are given much more respect and characterization in that cartoon than Lucas gave them... if you like Droids and Clone Troopers, watch ROTS!

And if you haven't seen the Clone Wars cartoons anyways, you will be completely lost when ROTS starts, since they give the worst intro story out of the 6 films... that little yellow scroll at the beginning let me down big time!

Overall, it was a really fun movie.. well worth the price of admission... I liked it, I will probably go see it again.. but it needed to be at least 45 minutes longer if they wanted to do it right.

I liked the movie overall :) The best out of the three - like that was hard to accomplish, but I enjoyed the story even though it's not perfect :)

Some of the dialogue between Padme and Anakin was cheese and the ending where Vader goes "NOOOO" made him sound like a whiny little you know what. That was cheese too and I burst out laughing at that part ;)

Palpatine was terrific as well as Obi Wan :) I need to get the Clone Wars Season 2 set when it comes out, but I gotta agree with Clam in that the Jedi were killed way way too fast

The stuff with Qui-Gon goes down like this.  Qui-Gon contacted Yoda.  Yoda did not have to learn to contact Qui-Gon why should Obi-Wan have to.  What Obi-Wan had to learn is to come back himself to contact others (Luke).  Yoda and Obi-Wan learn how to come back from Qui-Gon, that is how the do come back in the Original Trilogy.  I don't know where some of you are getting the idea that they had to learn how to talk to the dead, it's the other way around.

I think is the other way around. Yoda and Obi-Wan "evolved " into the next plane of existence by their own will, because their mission on this plane had been fulfilled; they reached an "enlightened" estate that allowed them to move between this plane and the other, whereas Qui-Gon got killed before he could reach that estate, so it took him a while longer to comunicate back to this material plane and i think he did that with the help of Yoda; that's why , i think, Obi-Wan could not reach him nor he could appear as a jedi spirit yet or ever, you could compare it to school, you finish first grade and go on to second, no problem, but what happens if you are in the middle of first grade an suddenly trhown into second? think about it.

By the way just saw the movie, it rocks, they should have killed jar jar , i mean, he got everybody into that mess , that scene would had gotten a big applause.

I have a question , why did luke felt something so familiar about Dagobah if he never was there? i tought that he was going to be there at least for a few days in this movie before he went on to tatooine.

And yes, i agree with a lot of you, we should have gotten to see Darth Vader fighting in his suit at least once, yes i know we see him do that latter on , but he is 20 years older or something( a lot slower maybe) we never get to see him doing such a big display of power as when the time he learns that he "killed" padmé. We could done away with the nooooooo, (even homer simpson has done it), at least change it for a big aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh @smilepunch@

Yoda told Obi-Wan he had to learn from Qui-Gon. If Obi-Wan does not know how, how can he learn. Qui-Gon would have to contact Obi-Wan first.

This will probably be cleared up in the DVD when deleted scenes or new scenes are added.

In the novelization, Yoda realized that his Jedi training was too rigid, since the Jedi where basically prepared for a Sith Lord like Darth Bane, not a Sith that had adapted.

This is alos why Yoda doesn't train Luke and Leia from birth, he figured that the only way to fight the Sith was for the Jedi to adapt too.

Look at this way, while in the prequals, Jedi are

1) Trained from a very young age

2) Taught to live by a strict moral code (no friends, love, etc.)

while Luke was as old as Anakin was when Anakin turned, and Luke was given the basics, how to levitate, healing, etc.  Also, if you factor in the books set after Jedi, Luke is training Jedi the way he was trained, even allowing other Masters and himself to marry, in Luke's case, Mara Jade.

Yeah, but how can you really count the novelizations? Are they actually "canon" to the Star Wars universe?

I believe they are canon, just as long as it doesn't contradict the movie.

Geaorge Lucas has said on mamy occasions in interviews that they novels do happen.

He has said there are alot of things he cannot cover in the films because there is not enough time. He tells the writers these things and they are put into the books. Nothing is made until Lucas ok's it.

Everyone should read the novels it really explains alot more.

The whole thing with Syfo Dias is explained in a novel.

Grievous was not at 100% in ROTS. Anyone notice how he was coughing alot. That was from what Mace Windu did to him in the Clones Wars cartoon.

Jedi are not Gods. Not even a Jedi can take on Clone Armies. That is why they were killed so easily, plus they had been at war side by side with clones for years, why would they have a clue that the clones would turn on them.

There is no way Obi-Wan and Yoda could take on the entire clone army of millions and Palpatine on there own. Plus the majoraty of the senate was behind Palpatine. Paplatine was still very popular with the poeple and the Jedi are no match for the galaxy. Everyone believed the lies Papatine was telling about the Jedi and how they tried to overthrow him and kill him to rule the galaxy themselves. This is part of why any remaining Jedi went into hiding. They would have been mobbed if they had stayed around any longer.

Was Shaak Ti in the movie? I thought she had survived Grievous' attack at the end of clone wars when she was tied up.

Yeah I was wondering about that too.....if you look in the making of book there is a unfinished shot of Grevious stabbing Shaak Ti. I thought he was somehow gonna kill her but I guess not.

Maybe the cartoon came in conflict with the movie somehow....who knows.

I absolutely loved this one! Maybe my new favorite...have to see it again and asain to be sure though!

Saw it with my fiance and she loved it too, it's the first Star Wars movie she's sat through in her life, now she wants to watch them all! (This film MADE a Star Wars fan...not too shabby!)

Cheesy dialogue? Yup...it's EVERYWHERE. Everywhere in the entire six part Star Wars saga. Even in your blessed ESB. "Nooooo, that's not true, that's IMPOSSIBLE". It's true. Get over it, Luke, and get over it Fan-boys.

P.S...I'd love to follow all those guys who are saying "I'll never see this one multiple times"...yeah right!

WHOOO HOOOO... just woke up form a good nights sleep after seeing it the 3rd time... Had to catch up a bit and read this thread(left of on page 3, lol)...

Shak Ti's in the Jedi council scene when Yoda's on Kashyyk, when they first show yoda, and the other hologram members, you can see her horn thingies.. other than that, that's the only time I think she's in there...

Skullfire, he created Anakin with the force, he's not Anakin's "FATHER" so get over yourself and step down off that high horse...

After seeing it a third time, I'm still happy with it, I finally got to see the falcon, and those female droids off to the left by all the other droids when Paly's gonna meet up with the senate after being rescued...

As for people complaining about the clones and how they'll turn into all the "WHITE" stormtroopers, I think it'll have a lot to so with The Emperors hate for the Jedi, in away, He'll probably see it as another thing the Jedi's did wrong... gave them names, let them get a little too personal, so, I'm guessing we'll see a book or two, or three where they'll get their new armor and Palpy will slap a couple around like the commanders and let them know they're all generic foot soldiers for the Empire...

Lastly it is known that leia is adopted, and luke does ask Leia about her... REAL mother, so seeing that she does have the force, I'm guessing she can see images of her real mother through the force, I'm sure luke can see her too, just wants to know if Leia sees anything else... I'll have to look it up, but doesn't Yoda say something in ESB where you can see loved ones either in the future or the past, something like that???

anyway.. I'm hoping I can take my wife again to see it this weekend... for #4 :D

I think people just wanted the Jedi to go down with a fight. Kai Adi Mundi was the only one who put up any sort of resistence to being killed. It would have been awesome for Kit Fisto and Seasee Tiin to at least jump around the room a little instead of just standing there and getting stabbed. And it would have been cool for Aayla to chop a few clones heads off insteand of just turning around and get shot to the ground.

I know Lucas wanted Palpatines and the Clones ability to kill the jedi off as a show of the power they had, and a way to show that the Jedi were getting to cocky, but the fans of the Jedi deserved more than seeing these heroes die off like common soldiers.

I guess i am gonna have to rely on the expanded universe for my Jedi action fix.

dont forget that the clones responded to order 66, which may have been a subliminal overide type of command. If the clones never knew the destruction of jedi was their purpous then the jedi wouldnt of sensed it either.

To many people see the OTC through "rose colored glasses". This movie , as well as EP I and II, are on the exact same level as the OTC. Cheesey dialogue, special effects driven. Alot of people that are nitpicking are just doing it because the movies dont play out the way you have imagined it in your head for 20 - 30 yrs. This movie is by the 2nd or 3rd best of the six movies. Personally for me the worst of the six movies is by far Return of the Jedi. Talk all you want of how quickly the Jedi die in Ep III, but look how quickly the Empire is defeated in Ep VI, and by teddy bears, no less.

that is so true. and that is also what I noticed with the prequals as well. I went to see all the prequals with an open mind and I enjoyed all of them, especially this one. For me, other than a few tiny gaps, the stories meshed together pretty well. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was the elaboration of the clone wars with Mace and Grievous, other than that I totaly loved how they went.

I just saw it last night and I liked it. It was by far the best of the prequels. It felt more like the OT IMO. Yeah, it had it's problems, but then, what George Lucas movie doesn't. The good far outweighed the bad. I'll have to say the whole FrankenVader thing made me cringe, and the droid armies speaking parts were cheesy, but I enjoyed the rest of the movie. I'm not so sure Palpy created Anakin. I'm thinking it might have been Darth Plageuos, his master. Palpy seemed to mention that he and Anakin could find a way to heal Padme, which would mean Palpy didn't have the power to do it himself. If he couldn't heal her, I wouldn't think he could create life. But that's just my opinion. Feel free to disagree with me.

yes i think he was just manipulating anakin into thinking that, so he could feel more comfortable with the dark side since he "came" from there.

I finally got to see the falcon

Where was it? I didn't see it. :(

I just got back from seeing it. Other than the cheap shots at America that I felt were pretty obvious, the bad acting that came from Natalie Portman in a poorly executed death scene, and how easily Anakin went from "this is wrong" to "I swear my loyalty" in just a couple of minutes, I thought it was cool. I liked the ending with the beginning of the construction of the Death Star.

Anakin was so whiny with his "me me and more about ME" BS that I was glad when Obi-Wan handed him some long-overdue whoop-ass.

R2-D2 was probably my favorite in the movie. The way he kept giving attitude to the bigger droids was cool as hell.

Lucas still shows his flaws as a s***ty director incapable of making contact with the actors to bring out their best, but the special effects and overall story were much better than the last two SW movies.

I thought it sucked when Mace Windu died. How can you let him die without letting him put a cap in someone's ass first??? Vincent should have come in and busted on Anakin as revenge for Jules!!

He better be dead, lol.. I dont think my buddy saw that I was kidding..

anywho.. the Falcon is landing under the platform when the Shuttle that has Obi, Ani, and Palpy is landing after they save him. When they show the far away shot of it landing, look for the small falcon shaped disc landing... dont blink, lol ;)

I was looking in the making of book and they show a pic of the Falcon. Im not sure its really supposed to be the actual Falcon though, just same class of ship. This one has all these blue markings on it.

Anyone see Lucas and his daughters cameo in the movie? He and his daughter are supposed to be walking in the hallway at that opera thing.

First off someone said what would you have done if the vader thing happened to you? - Regarding the end vader scene. It's not a matter of what we would have done in the situation, it's more about what looks the best on film and best compliments the character.

One question that's been bugging me but forgot to mention in the earlier posts. Did Bail run away like a coward when the little jedi (I think his name is Zett Jukassa or something) was killing the clones? Or did he see the kid die and then run away? I mean after that it made me think he was a coward and I couldn't respect the guy at all. I think I might return his figure to wal-mart now...
