Well I`ve just got back from the UK Midnight showing.

WOW talk about a LOT to take in & digest. This is certainly a Multi viewed film (though wasn`t it going to be anyway ;) ).

Alas we Brit`s in the North, didn`t have many in fancy dress nor had the Cinema organised anything special :(

I did see however some Overgrown Jawa`s (think they thought themselves jedi`s..........LOL ).

Anyway film wise, Lucas has made up for 1 & 2 with this in my opinion, though there`s still more he COULD have done with this installement of the saga.

Main part l was peeved (annoyed) with, was (SPOILER)

NO Voice nor Ghost of Qui Gon at the end.

I truely thought this was going to be in as Liam did do a voice over.

Though leaving the cinema with my friends, one said they heard there is already a Digitally remastered one also going round cinema`s. If anyone does see the film with Qui Gon`s voice/Appearance in it,Please say so in this thread.

Well don`t want to spoil the fun,so l hope you guys have fun & Enjoy the film & the multi viewings of it.........You know you will be doing ;):D

I just got back, good movie. I guess we should infer that Palpatine was the Aprentice of that one all powerfull Sith that he told the story to Anakin about. I guess we should also infer that Palpatine manipulated midiclorines to create anakin.

Ok now for a couple things I didnt get.

Why did Yoda quit the fight with Palpatine????

Why the need to go into seclution period. I would think now would be the time the remaining Jedi would need to stand up and fight.

Yoda at the end stated Obi Wan would need to learn how to communicate with Qui-Gon in the after life. Yet Luke was able to communicate with Obi-Wan without any special training?? This didnt make much sence.

Just got back and I loved it. Only had a problem with the dialog in the beginning and mostly the way Vader broke free of his creation restraints. Your making the most climatic part of your 6 movies (and cinematic history) and Lucus copies it from another movie. Frankenstein. Maybe it was a nice nod and a show that a monster was created but I wish he had done that scene somewhat different.

Jay, I think Obiwan had to learn how to communicate from the dead for the twins not for Qui-gon.

Either Palp created Anakin OR teh other Sith Lord did and Palp just took over.

Just got back and think it was better than Ep 1 and Ep 2 but thats about it. I'm pissed off. I saw the originals in theaters as a kid when they first aired and the crowd even back then was more into the movies than with the prequels. They were just better because they had more suspense, emotion, better acting, better humor, less cheesiness, no battle droids, or stupid alien politicicans. The only thing I give the prequels is the special effects. This movie could have much better.

Spoilers

1. Where in the hell was Boba Fett? Lucas already ruined his character by showing him as a little kid and now he just completely omits him.

2. We never saw Anakin's older look like the hologram at the end of ROTJ.

3. Where were all the great laser battles and suspense parts like the originals? All we saw was clone warriors shooting all over the place but the battles were just boring. No sense of urgency at all in these battles. I felt like I was watching Phantom Menace again.

4. Why those damn Battle droids again and that idiot General who acted like a villain from a cheesy cartoon.

I'm a die hard Star Wars fan and it was my first toy line to collect even before G.I.JOE and Transformers but damn I waited so many years for these pieces of crap. I can never ever say that these prequels were awesome as much as I want to. This movie just didn't come out swinging like it should have.

1.Why should we see boba fett? Its like 2 years (at the most) gone by. Boba would be like 12.

2.I have the new ROTJ and thats what he looks like.

3.No need for laser battles, Clones changed and killed everyone quickly.

4.Id say they are only there cause they are part of teh seperatist and the Seperatist were still around.

This movie is easily the best of the prequels. I won't say it's 100% flawless but I am very happy with it. Emperor Palpatine was bad-ass! When he dubbed Anakin Darth Vader he had this weird almost "double-voice" thing going on. Pure evil.

Did the battle on the Wookie planet give anyone else a Battlefront flashback? (I think it was all the Scout Troopers).

I'm actually straining my brain for something to critique but can't seem to think of one right now.

I will say that I wish we could have heard Qui-Gon's voice. But I had heard it was not going to be in the movie.

I don't care what anyone says by trying to come up with all kinds of answers. I know my expectation level and a great movie when I see one and to me I could not sit and watch this movie again like I have done with originals which are over a hundred times. The theater and die hard fans was practically asleep. These were all die hards with all kinds of costumes and crap on. Some I could tell were in my age range. I'm 32 BTW.

1. Lucas of course changed the way he looks in the hologram now.

2. I'd like to see Boba Fett. Why the hell get into his origin and just drop him like that. He shoulda left the damn character alone in the first place. The mystery of the character is now gone for the kids who will watch these movies from part 1. Anyone who first saw and heard of Fett as a kid in ESB will know what I mean. Its something you can't explain.

The movie was the best out of the prequels but I heard some people compare it to ESB. LOL, thats ridiculous.

Well I saw it and I have to say it was good but not great. The hype must have gotten to people, the movie was definitely the best of the prequels, but no where close to touching the originals imo.

I like how (this is a spoiler thread btw) they tied everything up, but certain things bugged me. The jedi dieing was just too fast, and certain jedi died in seconds (there only screen time too) which just ticked me off. Sometimes Lucas doesn't know when to start a scene or when to stop one. More focus should have been put onto the jedi and less into the supposed suspense of outcomes almost 99.9% of the population know the outcome.

I also didn't like how Obi Wan was so lucky (that boga thing was an annoying p.o.s. too). I was thinking maybe since the clone commanders were going to be more personalized they would defy the orders and that's how Obi Wan would survive. Nope don't actually throw any plot twists in there or anything, we want everyone to expect what's going to happen next.

I didn't like how the clones and even wookies got barely any screen time, and the lack of bounty hunters and aliens was somewhat disappointing.

The beginning seemed extremely rushed and Grievous sucked, he was a blah character with an annoying voice, as well as Count Dooku's death scene (which was good but not great).

Overall the good outweighs the bad, and I might be a little cheesed off since it is 2:50 am and I've been sleep deprived all week, but out of 10 stars I'd give this movie a 7 1/2. I'd rather rewatch the original trilogy a couple times than go back to the theater to watch this prequel.

I wonder how much they paid people like Kevin Smith to like this movie?

I thought the movie was great. Only a few things I didn't like.

1. I wasn't happy with how soon Dooku was killed, for being all powerful in Ep.2 he dies quick in this one.

2. Why did Anakin have to jump over Obi to try and get on that lava rock he was on? Couldn't he have just jumped beside him like 6 or more feet away out of lightsaber range.

3. Some of the Jedies died pretty easy, like two of the ones that were with Mace when they went to get Palpatin died pretty fast into the battle.

4. Did Padme die of a broken heart? If so thats pretty lame.

And that all, I loved everything else about the movie, great lightsaber battles and one heck of a final battle between Anakin and Obi except for the part when he tries to jump over him.

I agree with Leo that the Dooku scene should have been longer and Anakin should have killed Dooku in a fit of range. Not hmm let me think about it, no I shouldnt kill him. What the hell I'll kill him anyway. I also agree Grevious seemed alot more menacing in the animated series. Then again he got pretty messed up by Mace so that might account for it.

For me Palpatine and Obi-Wan carried this movie and did a good job doing it. Definetly best of the Prequals. the OT though still are the best 3 hands down.

Anakins birth.

Yoda probably stopped fighting Palpatine, because 1. Yoda was

pretty old and his age is getting the best of him or 2. Fighting Palpatine was in vain and rather than keep at it, he just retreats.

Going into hiding would be the best idea, after all there really aren't enough Jedi to stand and fight, the remaining one would be hunted down anyhow throughout the years. There was no sense in staying around to be slaughtered.

There are actually very few Jedi able to attain this feat and becoming Jedi Spirits. It appears that Obi-Wan would need to learn how to communicate with Qui-Gon whereas Obi-Wan could communicate directly with Luke. In episode 2 Qui-Gon could be heard therefore to some degree it could be easy.

Though I dont know for sure, I believe Palpatine was actually surpressing Dooku's abilities because he wanted Anakin to win.

Over confidence was his undoing. One of Anakins primary weaknesses.

Did Padme die of a broken heart? If so thats pretty lame.

I believe so which was the tragedy of the story. In the end Anakin was the cause of the thing he gave his sole to try and prevent.

I also don't like the fact that Lucas never got inbto the traditonal Stormtroopers and how those damn annoying droids became obsolete. WTF happened to all the clone stormtroopers. He left a lot of details out which won't flow into the originals. How the hell could he use those battle droids again? UGHHH! Its as if I were watcing a cartoon. The originals were too dark for crap like that. Yes even the Ewoks were better. Ughhhh!

Anakins birth.

Im pretty sure thats what he was hinting at when he told Anakin that the Darkside was powerfull enough to manipulate midclorines to even create life.

This would fit in with how Anakins mother told Qui-Gon how Ani was born in E1.

The way Padme died wasn't all that bad. Yeah she died of a broken heart. Her beloved Husband started killing kids for crying out loud. @hmmm@

Well there is roughly 20 yrs that takes place between ROTS and ANH. So plenty of time for Clones to evolve into Stormtroopers. As for the Battledroids, that entire army was basically created and manipulated by Palpatine. Once they served their purpose he no longer had a need for them. He had Anakin take out their leaders and then had then deactivated.

I see. That flew right past me, thats interesting.

I guess thats why he decided to keep Anakin around despite his injuries on Mustafar.

I believe it was a retorical qustion, Obi-Wan's way of pointing to out to Padme he had known the truth they were tring to hide and that she could trust him.

other then that I was just expecting a movie with lots of action.

Well its not like she became pregnate and had the kids overnite. Im sure she had plenty of time to think of names, and prob new she was dying so wanted them named before she died.

Maybe she had already selected a name for them prior to birth, which is done all the time.

Well atleast we know why Vader is so tall. I always figured his legs were his, but now I see that all of his limbs are robotic.
