I can go on and on and on and on about his artwork and how unimpressive he draws..........but his work DOES sell comics.

I can see a multitude of things "wrong" with the image posted above......but I'll stay my hand.

so far, I really don't like his Robin and Kid Flash. I'm still buying it though so it is useless for me to complain.

I think it looks fine. I think Liefeld gets a bad rap sometimes.

He was certainly a bit overrated back in the day, but that doens't mean his work is bad. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. Honestly, compared to a lot of guys working in comics, I'd take Liefeld anyday.

"As long as it looks good" Which it clearly doesn't, man I should get a job drawing comics, if this is what passes for talent.

Either that or they look like New Mutants rejects. Robin looks more like Dick Grayson.

What's the problem with it? I personally don't think it's that bad, Liefeld just gets a mega-bad rap on the internet.

Where shall one begin?

 

All the women have the same facial AND body structure, three of the flying women are in the same pose, there's tangents all over the place. Leifeld doesn't like to draw feet--or draws them poorly, there's.........oh take my word for it, if you want to.

He gets his bad rap/rep by being somewhat brash and boastful about his abilities and then delivers art ( and sometimes stories) that don't live up to his talk. There's been countless cataloguing of the inconsistenies in his work--in single ISSUES yet--not to mention over whole stretches of issues--classic one is an eyepatch on one character's eye in one panel and then on the OTHER eye is another panel a page later. Other artists DO make similiar mistakes, but in Liefeld's case its been seen as far more constant.

 

Feel free to to like the guys work too, its your perogative as a consumer--but count me out, I know too much about how this stuff is done anyway.
