Man I Can't Fiind The New Alternators Anywhere

My goal was to have EVERY loose alternator in pairs, for bot mode next to alt mode, that was short lived, so I decided to concentrate on at least getting every single one of the coolest toyline of the last 15 years. But after Ravage, I can't find the new ones, I'm starting to get worried, anyone else have this problem?

Yeah its just a matter of patience. When the first sightings of Ravage, Windcharger, and Swindle were reported here, it took about another 3 months before I spotted any of them.

But I usually find lots of them the first week they've been discovered on the net, my stores are really good at stocking them, that's why I'm wondering what the deal is...

I gotta feeling I'm going to end up in the same boat here. Some of the closest stores to me, including the Target which I've steadily found most of my new Alts at, don't even have a shelf space for them anymore. The stores that do have shelf spots for them have Swindles and Windchargers warming the shelves. Not a lot, just enough to probably keep them from restocking them.

It took a LONG time between getting Sideswipe and Smokecreen and finally finding Hound, Silverstreak, and Dead End. I didn't find any of those til the first of November. I have a feeling I'm about to go through another one of those long droughts! @grumpy@

Welcome to the club! Hasbro's distribution for them SUCKS so badly, It goes beyond words.

After Silverstreak, I have never even seen most alts locally.

As much as I'd like to pin it all on Hasbro, it's not entirely their fault. The stores themselves do a piss poor job distributing them among their stores. If Hasbro is guilty of anything, it's not making sure that the stores are doing a good job getting their product to the places they need to be in order to sell.

Good companies have reps that go around to the stores and make sure that they are getting enough of the newest product in stock, I don't know if Hasbro does this or not, but judging by what I see, I doubt if they do.

I all but lost hope in finding alternators shockblast/shockwave, til I finally found him in wallyworld. Funny how one always finds things theyre not searching for ( I was looking for ROTS figures hehehe)

But yeah, the key thing here is patience, after literally searching every nook and cranny, driving miles and wasting gas..and losing hope. I finally got him. Yippeeeeee!!!

When looking for things, I ususally make a toy run that includes two TRU, two Targets, and six Wal-Marts. If I feel like it, there are 4 K-Marts I can hit without going out of my way. Usually somebody has something.

I have noticed that some of these stores are terrible with Alternators. Two of the six Wal-Marts have entire shelves covered with Smokescreen and Sideswipe, and have been that way since September. I think we the collectors are to blame for this, more than the stores or Hasbro. When these things first arrive, all of us collectors go on a feeding frenzy, and buy them as fast as they can stock them. I do it myself, and I have two friends who do the same as well. This makes the stores think the things are going to sell better than they really will in the long run. They end up ordering more of the same assortments that sold really well, buy too much because we misled them, and then the stuff sits on the shelves for months.

A friend of mine was the assistant manager at a local KB-Toys. Me and my friend Tim asked him to pick us up the TF: Universe Micromaster Defensor figures when they arrived. His KB only got one case, which held two complete sets, so he purchased everything in that case for the two of us. Seeing that they sold in one day, his KB immediately ordered two more cases, which went on to warm the shelves for a long time. He yelled at us for that. I think the same thing happens with alternators.

6 Targets

4 Walmarts

3 TRU's

2 K-Marts

1 KB

That's what I hit in the past several days, and all I got to show for it is an empty gas tank! I usually won't hit all the stores in one day seeing they are in all different directions, but I can hit the majority of them in less than 2 hours. If I was really crazy there are many more stores I can go to but I figure this is enough.

I really suggest ordering on line or paying the comic shop a few extra bucks or just getting the bts out right for those of you who waste all you're time & gas $$$ just driving around...

Yeah but that takes some of the fun out of it. Burning up the gas doesn't bother me much and it gets me away from the computer for awhile so that's doing everyone here a favor too! :P

To me the thrill of the hunt is one of the best parts of collecting.
