What Happened To Skids?

Yep! Plenty of Skids here too. I don't know why your area had a problem getting them.

I thought Skids was a huge DUD! Why on earth would they release him before Sideswipe...oh thats right they said they wanted to reissue some of the harder to get G1's from the 80's, ones that alot of people didnt have the chance to get...thats why no one got him back then, he was as cheesey then as he is now. Now instead of awesome Sideswipe (which everyone wanted) the US shelves are cloged up with a shelf warmer named Skids.

i have had skids for a bit now, we have had them all, we are almost out of all TRU reissues, its aboot time, maybe we could get some new energon in, i have been waiting for ever here.

That's really weird that Canada would get 1 reissue in bulk and the US would get the other. I really wonder how Hasbro plans their distribution, if at all, sometimes.

Nah, we got plenty of Skids up here - maybe you just missed him for some reason. A lot of the TRU reissues seemed to sell out when they first come out, but then a week later they restock them and they sit on the shelves.

 

What's with the hate-on for Skids? It's not his fault he was shafted in the cartoon - he's a great little TF. Pure G1 goodness (by that I mean him being an original Diaclone TF).

Hey in all fairness Skids was originally a pain to get, so many such as myself were glad for the chance to get him, and also appreciated Hasbro's rare slip-up of reissuing the accessories with the chrome on them instead of removed.

we have him here and sideswipe in aust too...... but i was just thinking today... did you guys go "WTF?!?!?" when takara and Hasbro said Skids going to be the next re-issue at the time? Come on takara and Hasbro........ if you going to re-issue anything... why not re-issue the guys we actually like and remember? Not some guy who appears in 2 eps for a total of 5 minutes and gets ripped up int million of bits. Re-issue the dinobots! Or sunstreaker or someone everyone would actually buy!

we never got sideswipe here in the US, because there's not even a label on the TRU shelves where they list each tf and the price.

Yeah, I would have preferred that too, actually. It looked for a while like they wanted to reissue every '84 and '85 car. Hopefully they still do, but it looks like they want to change it up a bit to keep things fresh.
