I don't think he can sue him. It's one of a kind - and a painting. Technically, I guess he's making money off Lucas' character, but this sort of thing happens in the art world. If he were to make prints of it, it may be a different story...

 

I don't mean to justify that ugly piece of crap by calling it art, but it essentially is.

Yeah, but that's business. Art isn't really a business, unless you start selling prints. The art world has never followed the rules, and almost always gets away with it. (BTW, this guy seems somewhat legit as an artist, as well, rather than just some hack. I'm not saying he's good or anything... don't get me wrong.)

 

That's not to say he couldn't try to sue him, but it likely wouldn't go anywhere. It'd probably be good for him (the artist), because it would increase his notoriety and popularity.
