If Hasbro needed to drop one line to keep the other going would you rather they dropped the reissue line or the Alternators line?

 

Thats tuff...I guess I would say the reissue line only because it would be easier/cheaper for me to get the Takara reissues than the BT's. I only collect the ones I had or wanted as a kid but with the Alts, I like them all.

I say the Alts. THe Reissues are more worth it than the Alternators are anyday.

I also think that reissues shouldn't be exclusive to Toys R Us anymore. WIth TRU hurting like they are, reissues could do better elsewhere, with better pricepoints too.

No question, the reissues. For one, reissues are limited to only one chain and the Takara ones are a lot better and in some cases cheaper too.

 

Alternators are way better so why would anyone want to see them get canned?!?

My biggest complaint with Alternators is lack of variety in the transformations. They're all pretty much the same and now they're starting to become slight remolds. I'd take a G1 toy over anything anyday.

I would have said Alternators, had we not learned they're expanding to included jets and stuff. I'd rather they kill neither, to be honest. Take Energon any day, please.

 

It would be a shame to kill off the reissues before we get all the '84 cars and '85 seekers. After that, I wouldn't care so much.

I don't see it that way at all. All the original molds each have enough differences in their transformations to set them apart from the others.

 

As for repaints they're necessary in this line. These figures cost a lot more to develop and produce than any other line so a figure like Sideswipe alone will not sell enough to justify it's production cost so the repaints/retools help bring up the profits and allow them to produce the new figures.

 

They've been getting better and when we start seeing more variety in the types of vehicles they use then they will get a lot better.

 

besides, let us not forget that early g1 figures reused the same molds and basic transformation schemes too, so that's nothing new!

Drop reissues! The reissues are cool and all, but to expensive. and there so limited it makes it harder to get them. Now the alts are doing just fine for me! no matter the transformation, they still look cool and are definatly worth my $20!

I'd say drop reissues. Most fans buy from Takara anyway, in addition to Takara being a little more prompt with that line anyway.

 

Besides, being limited to one chain, I'm certain reissues would be dropped first as Alternators has a higher distribution, and from what I can tell, better sales without being marked down.
