Would You Buy It?

i would only get metroplex if it was painted in an egg white, snow white, or pearl white

Reread what he asked, he asked if youi would get a fortmax if painted metroplex style...

& my answer is the same with someones above, depends on the end result! I'd much rather just have an metroplex, & fortmax reissues though!

I'm saying it would be Metroplex using the Max mold, not Maximus in Metro colors. He'd be called Metroplex, colored like Metroplex, and have Max cogs repainted as Metro cogs.

Like how people say TRU Reissue SStreaker will be sideswipe repainted as SS, would you get a Metroplex using Maximus's mold(assuming you had the money, it was a perfect paintstyle, and really reflected his original form)?

It makes no sense, any eHobby repaint would be Grand Max, but it ain't likely. Hasbro couldn't do it (it fails the drop test) and Takara just did it a couple years ago.

And no, if they threw logic to the wind and did it, no I wouldn't buy it. I'd spend the $200 - $250 on something else

depends, why a repaint of fort max as metroplex?  why not just release metroplex?

I agree since I doubt Takara lost the mold on metro unless Hasbro wanted to release a "metroplex" to universe and because the original sculpt is not made into a reissue by Takara, Hasbro would probably just repaint a fort max and call him metroplex.

Also, a fort max with homage of metroplex via similar colors can also be done.

I would say I mighy buy one. As for the yellow Sideswipe, they did it and called him Tigertracks, so a grey fort max would probably have a different name. Probably Metro Maximus(all the metroplex figs have the metro in the name, while fort always have the maximus, so combining them would work.)

I was thinking the same thing, but I think he is doing some wishful thinking and maybe Takara may do one, but doubtful since they would rather make a new repaint than borrow another.

:) :) Nope. I didn't even get the RID version. I shall wait for the real FMax in G1 colors!

Agreed. What's the deal with the "Drop test"? This means the Fortress Maximus breaks if dropped right? But what is the minimun heigth? Any toy would break if dropped from a high place anyway.

Hypothetical question, logic need not apply. Just a discussion I brought up, not wishful thinking, ruhmoring, just a thought.

Foget droptests, mold own..age, copyrights, nothing.

@loll@ It's midnight... I have no idea whats going on...

That is what it means; drop the fig to test it. If they breaks with sharp edges or havin parts flying all over the place, it is bad, but if it doesn't break or breaks with minimal damage (to see if it will harm a child if heshe bashes it onto a wall or throws it,) it passed. That is why I think some of the newer toys are made of softer plastic

Ugh - are you serious? What a terrible idea. I wouldn't buy a yellow Sideswipe, nor would I get some repainted Fort Max. If I'm going to spend serious money on a TF, it'd better be like the 1980s original, because that's what I want.

FM reissue. Only way I'd fork out the cash.
