Price Check

The best thing to do is to look for an incomplete Viper at the cons. I got one loose Viper incopmlete for 10, then I just went over to a table that had his BP and gun for 1.00 a piece. I was able to get a complete Viper that day for 12.00.

Don't worry about finding a complete one, just track down the figure an slowly complete him. It is less expensive that way.

anymore than about $15-$20 is considered high-priced if it is not in a superb condition (no paint wear) and does not include all accessories and a file card. If it was in pristine condition $35 is not unreasonable.

Agreed, 35.00 is way too much IMO.

a 6-pack v1 colored vipers wouldn't really make a dent on the prices since it would probably use the goofy bat waists and legs. now if they recast the original legs, it might make some difference.

Why they don't just release a 6-pack in V1 colours is beyond me, though.

Because, the original Vipers are readily available. They might be expensive, but they are out there in huge numbers and not hard to find by any means. I'd rather they released something like a desert or arctic Viper instead so we got something new that we've never seen before. (However, I still hope the V1 Viper mold is forever retired. It's now been overused to the point where the Viper has lost much of his cachet.)

That would totally be cool with me. I mean, it's not like troops aren't given different kinds of pants every now and then. I'd just be nice to have a whole bunch. (More than six V1s would start to get incredibly expensive for me.)

Not a bad point, actually. Still, I'd always rather see V1 Vipers than all the new stuff we see now. I like the Neo-Vipers and Snow Wolves, and some of the rest, but I'll take 1980s-style stuff over that any day.

They are out there... but Hasbro makes no money off of them.

As far as desert versions... V3 (the sonic fighters version) always make the think of the desert... although I can't imagine wearing the helmet in that kind of heat :)

And as for the snow versions... love it, want it... but I don't want them to use the same body (short sleeves anyone?). They should look like this:

I have been thinking of a custom using this as a model. I was thinking maybe the normal Viper head and Frostbite form the neck down. Maybe some different legs.

YES! That would be great.

I always wanted them to do cartoon-accurate "winter" versions of the Joes and Cobras. It'd probably be really cost-effective, too, since they mostly just all wear a big winter coat.
