Diaclone???? Whats The Big Friggin Deal?

To me its just cool to see where the Transformers came from. Its like Diaclone is the source. @sun@ I would kill for the first Diaclone Prime with the really pointy ears. Not to mention just the extra details the figures had. Diaclone Prime came with little plastic figures to actually sit inside him in trailer mode. Its just the little details like this that make me appreciate the Transformers roots.

:) :) I have no interested in Diaclone.

The only figure I'll be getting from the Diaclone reissue line is Dia Battle, then, that will be it for me from this line. I may get Powered Convoy just because it's Ultra Magnus root. But then again, I may pass since I have Movie UMagnus version already.

I like some of them that were released early like the Tracks, Skids, Astrotrain, and Sideswipe ones. But lately, nothing interesting. I passed on the desert Hound and may pass on the Blitzwing one. Basically, I like the different color schemes as well.

One, it's the root of TFs, second, some have really spiffy paint schemes! Like pre-tf Omega Supreme! Red and black! :D

1. It's cool to see where the best TFs originally came from.

2. They often just look better (Diaclone Swoop & Slag, Marlboro Wheeljack, Blue Bluestreak, Blitzwing, Ultra Magnus, etc).

3. Working launchers.

4. Pilots.

5. No kid-friendly alterations. Eg, Swoop has a pointed wings and beak, and Blitzwing has a pointed sword.

i was born and raised g1, so diaclone colours are all wacky to me

They are the absolute originals. Diaclone, micorman etc and whatever pre-transformers that were used for the Transformer toys.

Please dont call all of pre-transformers diaclone, becase they aren't ;) Just call them pre-transformers. or pre-tfs. Omega supreme wasn't diaclone.

For me, its just everything about them, the original color schemes, the sharp edges that were filed down for stupid kids in america not to hurt themselves on, other molds changes that are on the originals, but not on transformers. The extra weapons and accessories, the giftsets, the rarity of the toys. Anyone that has a red mirage has more bragging rights then any transformer collector ever could with his entire collection :D

The diaclone toys are on their 25th anniversary, they are officially collector items now. I'm not sure about other pre-tf's, but guys like Prime, and the autobot cars, those diaclone toys are 25 years old this year.

Would it interest you to know that all the transformers movie characters were planned to be diaclone/microman or some form of pre-tf as well. Unicron, metroplex, hot rod, most of the gestalts. I've seen concept drawings of them back from the late 70's early 80's before Transformers was even thought of. ALmost all the toys up to 1986, and even a couple into '87. Just kind of makes me second think the transformers world, and how quickly it was thrown together. I am more interested in the original purpose of these toys.. I would love to see a diaclone cartoon some day, seeing the seeker jets and autobot cars are the same side fighting the insecticons. weee :D

You're talking about E-Hobby exclusives there, not Diaclone. There have been no Diaclones "lately", for over 20 years in fact.

True, some of the colour schemes used on the E-Hobby exclusives are taken from Diaclone, for the notalgia buffs out there, but desert Hound for one was not a Diaclone coloured toy.

Sorry dude - you aren't going to stop this one. It's like "Kleenex" - the word applies to them all.

As for me, I think they're kind of cool, but I'm not about to start collecting them. Not for me. I grew up on TFs, not the older stuff.

But like I said, I can see their appeal to serious collectors. They're old, less numerous, and the colour schemes are interesting and pretty cool looking for the most part.

Many of them are Diaclones. The majority of them from the first two years of the TF's are reissued Diaclones, and very few are either Microman or pulled out of another independent series.

you give it to em!! Soundwave's too good to be called a diaclone. Its insulting to call him a diaclone :D same with omega supreme.
