I'm really really curious to how these transformers come out. We havn't seen realistic jets (that dont have kibble hanging off the bottem) since the original seekers.

I imagine will be seeing a transfomation like that, or leader-1 from the gobots line.

well didn't they just say they were looking into expanding the line? even if that is true, we wont see anything for at least another year. unles they have already started designed concept art and designs.

if it does come through, I am confident we will see some great figures! But one thing does bother me.. are the planes all going to be grey? We better not get friggin pink and blue jets @loll@

The larger size of the jets is to keep in size with the robot modes, I'd think. Thus if they do Starscream, his bot mode would be roughly the size of Smokescreen (probaby a bit taller) in bot mode.

Lets not forget that the possibility of them transforming "correctly" is only 50%, based on whom we've seen so far (not counting Ravage, Grimlock or Shockwave). Smokescreen, Hound, Jazz and Silverstreak all "correct" while Side Swipe, Dead End, Swindle, Tracks and Windcharger are not.

There is some doubts to this being true, BTW. A 1/72 scale jet, according to the transformation of E Starscream, would end up being 10' tall in robot mode.

And that's why they're gonna be $30, coz they'll be bigger

1/72 jets aren't necessarily bigger in bot mode, and the only thing is maybe the wingspan will make them look a little bigger in jet mode.

For an extra $10 they damn well better add die-cast.

I hope the Jets and Arial bots are bigger, when needed. I also wonder how big the big red pick up will be. Since in real life a Dodge Ram will tower over (in vehicle mode) any of the cuurent alternators, just in mass and height they are so much bigger. Were'nt the seekers Almost as tall as megatron any ways, I would love to See a Modern Jetfire.

It's all my opinion, of course.

Smokescreen and Silverstreak resemble their G1 versions and transform exactly like them. Jazz almost exact (his legs are backward) and Hound almost exact as his legs are different, but the transformation is essentially the same. That is my definition of "correct," that is the Alternator version resembles the G1 version in appearance and transformation.

Side Swipe, Dead End, Swindle, Tracks and Windcharger obviously do not resemble their G1 versions and have very different transformations from them. I'm not saying that the Alt. transformations are better or worse than the G1s, just different.

And, given that, if/when we get Starscream (or any of the other Seekers) as a jet, there is no guarantee he will transform like his G1 version, thereby being "incorrect."

I was wondering that too... Because the Alternators have "realistic" alt modes, does that mean we won't get a Skywarp or Thundercracker colour scheme? We'd better! I don't want anything pink, but blue is perfectly fine, as well as black/purple!

I imagine Starscream would be no problem - they can hide the red parts in the alt mode. He's pretty much gray, anyway.

BTW, WHATS THE DIFF BETWEEN THE TAKARA SOUNDWAVE ALREADY RELEASED AND THE ONE COMING OUT IN JAN?

The one coming out in January technically isn't Soundwave. It's called Soundblaster - the story (which was only released in Japan, but it's still G1) was that Soundwave and Blaster had this big battle, and both "died". They were rebuilt into Soundblaster and (get this) "Billy". (Maybe that sounded cool in Japanese, who knows...)

Basically, it's the same toy, except he's black instead of blue, and can hold two tapes in his chest rather than one. I'm really only getting it for Ravage and Buzzsaw - the Soundblaster is just a bonus, for me.

The jets won't be any bigger than the cars in bot mode. I have some Macross 1/72's and their height is about the same as the Alternators.

i thought blaster was rebuilt as twincast or something like that?

It makes more sense if you use all the japanese names.

Soundwave became Soundblaster

Broadcast became Twincast
