Finally a chance to army-build Joes for a change instead of just cobra.

It's more of a "Chance to finally staff my Joe base with Random-guy-1!"

Actually, I think it will be cool to have some unnamed characters to add to my Joe ranks. I suck at making customs, and will now have the figures to use as my own characters.

We've already seen some variations in the TRU sets, the pale skinned Tiger Force (well, I never saw it in stores, but apparently it existed), the mustacheless Major Bludd (really a goof), and the current small or large USMC tattoo on Gung-Ho in the Desert Patrol. Plus there was a minor variation on the Cobra Infantry Packs that went unnoticed, the Cobra Squad Leader (non-scarred) had either black or brown paint of his collar. (and some packs had torsos that were glued together, others did not).

Don't forget the Stars and Stripes set, where there were some sets with a black Rock n Roll.

 

All in all, i am excited about these sets. I was only able to grab one of the cobra Infantry packs, and none of the other sets, like Tiger force, Python Patrol, etc. I may be able to still find some of the Cobra Urban Strike force sets.

 

As for the twins being cartoon accurate, my guess is they will do what they did with the Cobra Infantry and Crimson Sabotage sets. Use the same molds as the original figures, but use a new mold for the head.

 

There is one other thing they might change. If my memory serves, the cartoon versions of the twins switched their uniform looks. For example, the Tomax figure had his Cobra symbol on the left side of his chest (his left) and Xamot's was on his right. In the cartoon, they were switched, with Tomax's symbol being of his right, and Xamot's on his left. This could be another way of making them "cartoon accurate"

Based on the KB mess and the CRIMSON CURSE, I expect never own any of these set. But might as well try.

TRU has been much better with ordering a good amount of their 6-packs; the Cobra Infantry Force for example (as every other TRU 6-pack). And like the CIF, you gotta get it when the getting's good, like when they first come out at your local TRU, and about a month or two after. If you see them, get as many as you can, and don't wait. There wasn't that many who didn't get one, compared to the KB OCS.

 

I think the sets will be packed at 1:1 ratio. Most people will likely get 1 each, so I hope TRU ordered enough to fill demands.

 

 

 

I'm hope the sets look like this:

 

 

Set A: Tomax, 3x CG, 2x CGI

 

Set B: Xamot, 3x CG, 2x CGI

 

 

And no more shotguns for CGs please.

This is some real good news...Its going to be nice to army build an "GI Joe army"...Wow...sweet I have 8 HISS Tanks...with 24 CG's......now I can build it bigger...Wow cant wait to see some pics...I was kind of worrying of what is coming out next year...

Amazon charges when they ship and they don't do pre-authorization so nothing will happen until they're ready to ship the items.

 

The twins in that auction are the wave 5 Twins. Whether they'll be re-used for the sets is unknown, but those figures are the same as the cancelled wave 5 set.

And, that seller has had a number of other Wave 5 figures (Shock Viper, Serpentor) lots available lately. So, I think these are overstock that he got his hands on rather than upcoming releases.

I second that. The fat-heads in the KB set look so dumb next to my original CG's. If the set is more of that, then I'll just avoid it and focus on the greenshirts.

I have a feeling the Crimson Guard figures in these sets will be very similar to the figures in the Crimson Sabotage sets.

 

Having the same bodies and helmets, with a new headsculpt. Maybe even the same sculpt as the CS figures, with a different paint job.

 

As far as what figures are in the set, I hope it will be something like:

 

Tomax/Xamot

1 Crimson Sergeant (CG Commander mold)

1 Crimson Guard Immortal

3 Crimson Guards

 

Since the CAT tank came with a Crimson Guard Immortal, I would prefor they didn't put to many of them in the set, plus I like the Crimson Guard commander figure.

My question is what the line up for the Crimson Guard sets will be? Meaning what figures will we actually get? Is it going to be more Crimson Guards with the removable helmets, the first version with the original head, silver chest emblems, and M16's with bayonets, or just Crimson Guard Immortals? If it's more Crimson Guards with the removable helmets forget it, but if we can get back the original Crimson Guard, oh yeah I'm going to be stockpiling those suckers!

We'll just have to see although what with the success of this past year's Cobra Trooper/Officer set I'm not suprised TRU is going for another troop builder set. My question is why they waited so long. They could have doubled their success with the Cobra sets if they hadn't packaged the last 2 Cobra packs with 3 unique characters each.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm more interested in the Greenshirts than I am the CG set. If I get just 1 6-pack of CG's they shall overwhelmingly outnumber my Blueshirts and that ain't right.

 

I'll need to see some pics before I preorder anything.
