Yes indeed, I LOVE the Sideshow Weta stuff. Without a doubt, these products BLOW AWAY everything else on the market (especially the Toy Biz crap). Expensive to collect, but well worth the price.

Thus far, I've got:

-The Cave Troll statue

-The Balrog statue (the original design)

-The Witch King statue

-Gandalf The White statue

-The Morgul Lord statue

And I've got the Sauron statue on pre-order.

whoa, it's DEFINITELY not to scale with any of the current figure lines. it's roughly 7" x 11" and made by the same team that designed the maquettes for the film itself. i've never seen any of the sideshow LOTR envornments "in person," but if the figure statues are any indication of quality of sideshow's other works...then the golden hall must be excellent.

ToyBiz crap? Do you actually own any figs made by them?

yeah...i bought a ringwraith waaaaay back when the first wave was released. it's a decent fig, but the rest of everything i've seen on the shelves just looks...scary. the likenesses suck, in my opinion. i don't think toybiz even comes close to capturing the richness of these characters.

Maybe you should get some more figures then, cause they are not that crappy like you think. The articulation is the best on figures in this scale at the moment.

If you are wondering about likeness, check out the following figures:

Boromir

Elrond

Frodo

Gandalf

Legolas

The Green Dragon currently has some problems, otherwise i would've posted more. If they are back online later, check out Merry in Rohan Armor, King Théoden in Armor and the Witchking/Morgul Lord from the ROTK line.

The only Sideshow stuff I have is the stuff that was packed in the EE DVD giftsets. I like the Argonath bookends and Minas Tirith, but the Gollum statue is kinda crappy.

If I had money, though, I'd buy the environments and the helms, plus the swords from United Cutlery. But, since I don't, I stick with my Toy Biz 'crap'. ;)

I wanted to buy The Morgul Lord statue, but Sideshow screwed me over.

When i wanted to order the item, the pre-order had closed already, so i put myself on the waiting list. Then i was contacted that there were some cancellations and i could order mine. I thought they just mailed this out to the first that had entered in the list, but they mailed everyone, so when i read the mail it was sold out again.

I was pissed about this, cause i think they should've done it differently. What they should've done was check their inventory and then mail the first that were on the list instead of all, so you could give everyone a statue. So i mailed them to complain about this weird method, that i wanted one statue and a shipping quote, but never received a reply.

Then a week or so ago, i was on the site, checked The Morgul Lord page and saw it was retired. This made me remind about what happened earlier, so i mailed them to complain yet again. So then i went to the main page to go and order the MacLeod figures and saw The Morgul Lord was listed under hot sellers. I clicked on the link and low and behold you could order them! I was like WTF, why did i put myself on the list if they don't offer you the stuff?

So again, i sent them an e-mail with my order, Morgul Lord statue and one each of the MacLeod's, asked them to respond ASAP and told them about the fuss with the statue. Took them 4 days to respond and the statue had sold out again and they didn't reserve one for me!!!

Luckily i was then mailed by the person that had received my earlier complaint and a nice lady said she'd check for another statue if i'd mail them my address. I did, but it has been 2 weeks at least and stll no reply.

Nice store but horrible customer service and strange methods.

I have most of the 1/4 scale helms. Very nice looking stuff. Expensive to collect them all, especially since they are limited released items so prices get jacked up on ebay for them. Their latest helms availabe (4 helm set) sold for $120 when they offered them. Sold out in 2 days since they are limited to only 1000 sets. Didn't find out about them til after they were sold out. Now ebayers are selling them for $400 plus. WTF?

Yeah I read your threads on LOTRG. It's a great feeling to get an action figure but when you get something like the helms or a sword, it's just so much more gratifying IMO.

With the way Sideshow and UC are starting to pump items out, I'm kinda glad that after FOTR 5, ROTK 5 Pelennor and Loriens Sets there are only 4 figures listed in TTT 5 and ROTK Series 1 Collector's Series that I want.
