Any Of You Misb Guys Have A Strategy For

CkRtech

Recommended Posts

I have a MISB item which has the top of the cardboard insert/backing falling down into the viewable part of the box. Do any of you have any recommendations for I dunno...something to run up in there from the side to push it back up? Maybe some other hidden strategy? Thanks.

Oh...and all of you who think you are really cool because you are about to hit reply and type "You could OPEN IT" - Save it, ok?

Hey ck,

You could try turning the box upside down for a while and see if that'll correct the problem or use computron's strategy although it's risky. I just live with the flaws of the ceiling on my stuff....

Grimlock.

The top of the actual box is fine - it is the insert inside which is "falling in"

hmmmm.

is that the manual, stickers and catalog on top trying to fall on top of grimlock?

ok. try this:

on the side of the box you can stick a flat but hard metal piece or plastic so slips right through the box without opening the box. then you can go in and push in it may be difficult thought cause back in the day the tf's had a cardboard that would not connect to the outside.

this is an odd looking case. can you take more pics from the side and top?

The door flap is inbetween the white cardboard and the back of the box, isn't it? If you stick a ruler or whatever in there, its only going to stay on the wrong side of the white backing holding grimlock in place.

Single-taped. Once per side. About 1/4 from the top of the "main box part"

eclipse1 mentioned a ruler - I said "well I haven't used one of thems since 5th grade" - so I looked through all my old "craft stuff" that I had in a little box and I found this crayola triangle which I got with a drafting set back in 1986! Hahahaha.

I ran the bottom of it up and held onto the little top "point" and pushed.

Not perfect...but it looks a heck of a lot better. Tape didn't break. (whew!)

if you had a long ruler that could run through the whole box, then maybe try slipping in small cardboard tabs to keep things up. or if yu can somehow get a piecce of thread through to the other side and tie it around the top. it probably wouldn't be too noticeable.

A lot. Like...more than it is worth. $500.

I am pretty uncontrolled when it comes to MISB. I had a direct offer to get it & I took it. Grimlock was one of the only ones I wanted, so I got it. It has a little wear on the corners, but no crease in the flap. (Back of the box looks awesome)
