Difference Between Superlink And Energon

Cartoon or toy wise?

The toys are of similar quality, with the only differences being colour / paint schemes. My Energon collection is pretty much 50/50. The differences are, IMO, negligible. I just get what comes out first as I import most of mine due to the fact that the UK is about 6-8 months behind.

The cartoon is the same, just redubbed into English, although the dubbing is not perfect all the time.

It also depends on how you look at it,for instance,Superlink Prime has chrome , while Energon's OP has a grey chest but other than that its like recoil said, paint scemes are really the only other differences with Superlink toys more show accurate. My collection is also 50 50.Half Takara an half Hasbro.I tend to get the Superlink version of my more fav bots.

Is there any difference between superlink and energon.  Like quality wise or any thing?

Ive been researching this question myself lately. You can't just say Superlink is better or Energon is cheaper, that statement is incomplete. You have to examine each figure and determine if paying twice as much or more for Superlink is worth it. I beleive a few figures are worth paying more for Superlink but not all.

Take Arcee here, I like the Energon Colors better.

Superlink

Now I prefer Superlink Wheeljack, I like the Silver, More G1 ish, I hate the green, so Ill have to pay more about 26$ (ouch) versus 10$. but worth it to me.

Other figures are not so clear cut. i already have Energon Smiley prime but i love Superlink, face plate prime. i like the Chrome and sharper details. im not sure if i want to pay about 70$ but im tempted,

Omega supreme Im debating, personally i like the silver finish on the legs versus the beige on the legs. ive seen em up close, and i prefer Superlink, but he's going to be real expensive.

Conclusion, Compare pics (See REMY Site) for each figure and decide if paying more than twice as much is worth it. I beleive for a few Key figures the extra cost is worth it.

Obiprime listed some good variations. Some others include:

Hotshots:

Superlink is on the right.

Scorponok/MegaZarak:

Superlink is on the left.

Plus, there were exclusive Terrorcon repaints in Japan. Not store exclusive, just more limited numbers.

Energon has a lot of figures Superlink doesn't actually. Off the top of my head:

Tow-Line

Sharkticon

Doom-Lock

Ofshoot

Energon Strongarm

Big Megatron

Grimlock and Swoop

Insecticon repaint(different than the Takara repaint)

Japan does end up getting these throught the Transformers USA line, they just aren't in Superlink.
