Bret Hart Blames Wcw For Ending His Career!

Outsiders

Bret Hart has once again updated his column for the Calgary Sun. His latest column states that he points the finger at the WCW Power Plant for ending his career. He says that if Goldberg would have been trained properly at the plant, his career may not have been cut short.

“I always took great pride in never injuring any of my opponents. How ironic my career was cut short when Bill Goldberg inadvertently booted me in the head in 1999. A transplanted nose tackle from the Atlanta Falcons, Goldberg learned his wrestling at WCW's Powerplant training camp, where I don't think it was a priority to protect your opponent

I'll just repeat what I said on another board. It's getting hard to defend Bret. Goldberg screwed up, fine. But I fail to see how that is the Power Plant's fault. It seems Bret does nothing but #$## now. And what's worse, I defended the guy. No more. I've lost a great deal of respect for him. So much what of he does is negative, he comes off as a bitter and sullen person.

Whats the point Bret? WCW was on the downhill and your (his) character was going downhill as well. Bret sucked ass in WCW and they practicallly gave him the belt.

Plus with all that aside, WCW then went bankrupt then owned by the WWE. At that time he probably would have just retired anywayz because he hated Vince at that time. But now,....I dont know, if he was healthy maybe he would come back. I bet he would now. But back then...it be hella wierd. I couldn't see him back at the WWE so soon after that.

I doubt Bret like to bring back the past. I figure others (journalist, wrestling fans ...) keep asking about it and he only answers the questions.

He slated before that he hates bringing the past back. He wanted to move on. I am guessing his past just intrigues more then anything.

And why it is not Power Plant's fault? After all, they were the ones who trained Goldberg in the the first place. Dont tell me that is you play the piano for living and somebody breaks your hands your not gonna blame him.

That doesn't make any sense. If I'm driving and get in an accident, do I blame the person who hit me, or do I blame the company that made the car? Look at all the people that have come out of the Power Plant. Has Elix Skipper ended any careers? How about Mark Jindrak or Chuck Palumbo? As bis as he is, how many guys has Paul Wight put away? Zero. None of those guys messed up the way Goldberg did. Maybe the fault lies with the bookers for pushing someone as green as Bill. And Goldberg certainly deserves most of the blame, but I fail to see how the Power Plant could be blamed, when Goldberg was already two years out of it.

Kool-Aid Man, i dont think your comparison works here. I am thinking since WWE had the upper hands at the time, WCW needed to think of something and may of brought up Goldberg a little too fast before he was really ready. Just like those new big WWE stars coming out now, WWE needed something to get ratings back on track and big guys are beeing brought up but just to be sent back down when fan's notice that they just suck in the ring.

Right...So how is that the Power Plant's fault? If the bookers, and agents brought up Goldberg before he was ready, then it's their fault. Not the Power Plant itself, maybe the higher ups at WCW, are to blame, but it still isn't the fault of the Power Plant. Is it OVW's fault Mordecai sucked, or is it the fault of the agents who brought him up too fast?

Well, isnt the power plant sort of a school ? If they (Power Plant teachers) saw that a wrestler wasnt ready, then believe me, he wouldnt of been called up. He could of seriousltly injured himself or others. The Power Plant must of gave a thumbs up to the agents on Goldberg.

But it would seem these days, they (WWE) are calling up wrestler way to fast that are not ready in hope to get their show back on track. but are just brought back down to train more since they suck amnd cant keep a decent match going.

I think the only wrestler that sucked but remained on top was Goldberg. People digged him and only wanted to see him get in the ring, scream, spit, slam is oppenent and 5 min later, out.SO in some way, who do you blame ? The higher power for bringing Goldberg up so fast, but was a sucess anyways with those limited moves, or the power plant for only, probably, focussing on those limited moves that made Goldberg a star ?

Remember in WCW when Russo was running things he played up the Survior Series angle and acted like the incident was his fault. So that created the Bret vs Russo fued like Russo was Vince.

That was a lame desparate attempt 4 ratings.

Yeah, but didnt this little feud with Bret/Russo turn out of Bret joining the new formed NWO with Bret as the leader, Jarrett, Hall and Nash.

Boy, that would of been a sweet ass group. To bad Goldberg screwed everything up.
