20th Prime

wats up evry1? I was just wondering, wat color red would you say the 20th Prime is?? @?@ I want to get rid of the silver "runners" on his arms and above the headlights with an airbrush. So, any information would be great. Thanks a lot guys and girls

well, I'm just not sure if it's a regular gloss red, or if its a slightly different shade of red. That's all.

They are painted on, aren't they? just get some chrome polish and remove them that way

 

Non abrasive chrome polish will remove any paint without harming the plastic underneith and leave it identical to the plastic that wasn't painted in the first place

 

I used this method on both my prowl and wheeljack, as you can see by the heads, you'd never be able to tell there was ever paint there in the first place

ok CD, this is reall emmbarrasing on my part, but wat kind of chrome polish did youuse, was it automotive, or jewelry polish???

automotive. The stuff I got here is called Blue Magic, liquid metal polish. It works really good. It takes some rubbing to get the paint off, but it works awesome. Ya just dab a bit on a cloth or rag and rub it back and forth till the the area is all paint free.. or chrome free, It'll take off everything on the plastic. So just becareful not to rub around the chrome area's on prime. The paint or chrome wont come off unless you really rub it a bit, so you dont have to worry too much.

just a heads up, some area's take a bit of work to get clean if the paint is thick. Chrome comes off pretty easy, and the lighter colored paints as well, but you get a good gop of dark red or blue and it'll take some work to get off. Once you got a holeworn through the paint, the rest comes off pretty easy.

 

And tampos come off pretty easy. Like the Alternators. If you wanted to take off smokescreens rally tampos or Hounds ugly yellow arm tampos. Its good for things like that

Removing them from Smokescreen is exactly what I did, and it was easy enough. I am not a fan of cars covered in ads, and Smokescreen without them looks so much better.

Also, I was wondering. Besides marksprojects.com and TFmaster.. who can make long stacks for Prime?? I need 2 pair, one to chrome and the other I'm painting white. Depending on if I like the white ones or not, I might repaint all of the chrome.

Why are you getting rid of the runners?

Simple, I don't like them. With the silver sreaks, or runners, or whatever they are, and the silver that's supposed to be Primes biceps, it just look odd to me. I was thinking of taking it one step further and taking the silver off of his biceps too, but I like that there in both modes.

He won't be very optimus in truck mode without the silver along his sides.

If you goin for more the Animation version it will be. If you remember correctly, in most, not all due to coloring errors, but most, he was completely red in vehicle mode.
