Bbi F/a-18 Fighter

Hi Guys!

 

Pardon me in advance if this message is posted in the wrong spot!

 

I got my BBI F/A-18C today from Bad Cat.....and let me tell you, this thing is HUGE! I don't have a Flagg, but my guess is that only one of these would be able to fit on the deck. If you got the BBI Blackhawk or Apache, this is every bit as large as those. My neighbors thought I got a new set of golf clubs when they saw the box at my door today!

These are just some fun shots to show the level of detail and the folding wings. This thing has a tail hook too!

 

This is an awesome vehicle and I cannot wait until BBI releases its F-16 in September! The only down side is the price. I'll post some more pics tomorrow!

Isn't BBI coming out with a black repaint of the F/A-18?

I don't follow the BBI rumor sites too closely, so I don't know for sure, but my guess is that they will come out at least with another repaint. BBI did that with the Blackhawk (USAF Pavehawk) and I think they did a repaint with the Little Bird. The F-18 is currently in two styles. The one shown is an exclusive from Bad Cat of the VFA-82 Mauraders. The standard paint is of the Golden Dragons. Now there was a black one at the SDCC. BBI had the black F-18, limited to only 4 for $250. They also had a F-18 with the Jolly Roger's Skull-n-Crossbone black tail.....but as you know, the JRs fly 14s and not 18s.

 

The F-16 got pushed back to October

You bet! The bay doors fit very flush, but are easy to open.....they had us fat fingered collectors in mind.

When I was at SDCC, they had the black version...however it in limited production....I don't know if he was trying to sell me it, but he said that there was only 20 around....and he would sell me his for $250...I was like it sweet but if there is only 20 around it would be more like $2500....

 

That f-18 is sweet...cograts on your purchase, and it pretty big as well (2' -3') long.

Great to finally see a pic of it. They still have the squardron or plane number on the side as the one I have, so they didn't change the decals there. The Jolly Roger markings just don't look right on an F-18......but it is a cool exclusive nevertheless.

Damn. $200 is a bit seep. It would be cheaper to buy the regular one, paint, and stickers from a model kit.

The Jolly Roger markings just don't look right on an F-18......

IIRC it's not long till you'll see them on a F/A-18's (F rather than C models though) for real.
