How Do You Explain Your Hobby To Your Wife?

She just calls me a Big Kid when it comes to

my action figure collection. She takes a look at them from

time to time and ask question concerning specific characters.

Her biggest concern is where am I going to put all of them

once I'm done collecting.

Its a definite sign she loves me cause our room is filled with stuff on the shelves and hangin on the walls. Every now and then she rolls her eyes when I come home with new stuff, but usually shes the one out there lookin for me.

I tell her that it's better than smoking crack. It may not be cheaper...

Then I remind her that I put a new roof on, replaced the appliances, painted the house (inside and out), replaced the hardwood floors/sinks/faucets/tub/shower/ceiling tiles/paneling/back door, grounded the entire house, landscaped the yard, replaced her brakes, and that all of this could have cost MUCH more than it did because I did the work instead of hiring someone else.

But at the end of the day I hide the new buys from her, and have them sent to my PO box @smilepunch@ @firedevil@

That's why I love ebay, I do my hunting at home. All that work was spread out over a month, too. It's just the new buys I hide from her, or rather, the boxes they come in. I have too many toys for her to remember what I got. But she does snoop thru the recycling bin for boxes (indicating new buys).

Most of that stuff is easy: faucets, sink, appliances, ceiling tiles, back door, brakes, & landscaping... it's pretty much plug'n'play. Besides, we bought a fixer-upper so I didn't have a choice. @grumpy@
