Free Keldor

Recommended Posts

Yea so the news today is that Keldor is being offered to anybody in Germany on 6/30 who spends 25 euro. FUN FOR US!

I AM HAPPY FOR ALL OF YOU GERMAN'S BUT FU*CK THIS! CAN ANYBODY REACH BEHIND US AND GRAB THE KNIFE OUT OF OUR BACKS? DO I NEED TO SAY ANYMORE?

Why couldnt they do this for the US fans? Now I am starting to think this is becoming a national discrimination. Hell everybody hates Americans so why not Mattel? The cost of getting one through a German fan would end up being about the same as Ebay so its not worth asking. Plus you would have a bunch of figs you dont want or already have. Unless somebody would give you a Keldor for buying them the toys they want. Its not like I want a couple duplicate figs shipped at over sea's rates.

WHAT A BUNCH OF BULLSH*T!! PLEASE GOD LET MATTEL GO BANKRUPT!!

Yea but it wasnt like you could walk into a toys r us and buy a couple of figs and get him free right? Thats the penalty we pay for being Americans and for driving the worlds economy. Its blatent in my opinion and I see no reason for our exclusion. They could have done this here months ago and made a ton of cash.

I have two Keldors MIB and a couple of connections in Germany that I'm going to hit up to see if they can score me one. And because it's in a bag is cool, that way I can open it and not have to open my other two.

wow. pretty f*cked up if you ask me.

Here you had to travel to a stupid convention and get on a stupid raffle for a damn keldor.

There, just buy and receive it for free. messed up.

I find it pretty messed up that we have someone here so selfish that he not only has 2 in the package but now wants one of the ones in the bag "to open". Share the wealth dude, there are thousands of people who want one of those.

F*ck Mattel.

Maybe we should make some t-shirts like He-Man.org, except ours would have F*ck Mattel in the same font as the MOTU logo. Then we'd all wear them to the summer cons. That's pretty neat, in my head anyway.

I was thinking the same thing. But I have this fear that a bunch of crazy old women and some effeminate men will see me with the shirt, and stab me with Barbie legs. Horrible.

Wait, back the fook up. I didn't steal anything out of your mouth. I spent lots of money getting my first Keldor at last years Comic Con, $100 to be exact, ya I didn't win the raffle, had to buy it from someone and my second one I bought off a friend for $60. So before you start talking sh*t about something get your facts straight. I like this figure alot and have a few, what's wrong with that. It's not my fault you don't have one. Are you now going to trash talk the GI Joe collectors for buying lots of the Cobra Infantry Packs or the Star Wars collectors for buying all the Stormtroopers and Clonetroopers. @pow@

As for me, I have keldor misb and it would be tempting to have another to play with, but I know i won't get another keldor. I mean I can always get a repro from the guy at he-man.org if I really want a loose keldor(just grab a skeletor body and stick a repro keldor head on it and instant keldor)

Cyclone, all that Joe stuff you mentioned is readily available on several parts of the country and no one had to win a stupid raffle to get one. What bothers me is that you have TWO and you want a third one. That's selfish, let someone who doesn't have one get it. And as for the first two you have, if you're stupid enough to pay $160 for two figures then more power to you.

That's your problem right there, it shouldn't bother you. Why are you worried about what other people have. Ya I may have spent alot of money to get my Keldors but that's because I really wanted them and it's my favorite figure. There is obviously no shortage of them since Mattel is giving them away for free in Germany, and most of those will end up on ebay anyway. Those are the people you should aim your BS cannon at, not me. I understand that some people didn't win the raffle, I was one of them. So how do you solve the problem, go buy one, don't be cheap or knock other people because they have the money to buy it. Go to the He-man.org forums and talk this stupidity and see what they say, there are people there that have more then 2 Keldors, try and tell them otherwise and they'll verbally rap you. I'm just telling you to lay off me, like I said, I never took anything from you or anyone else. Better in the hands of someone who cherishs the figures then someone who is going to sell it for triple the price.

JUST STOP!

Look....Envy is no reason to bash the guy. This is not a socialist country. He paid for them so he deserves them. He was in the right place at the right time and as we all know...Its not what you know, but who you know instead. He obviously has the hook ups.

DONT HATE THE PLAYER, HATE THE GAME... Later

Don't talk that "Peace, Love, and Harmony" hippie crap to me... @smilepunch@

Dude, we all share a common hobby. We are toy collectors. We collect plastic replicas of our favorite heroes and villians of our favorite stories, whether it be He-Man, GI Joe, Ninja Turtles, or Star Wars ect. Just like in those stories, in the collectors community thier are villians. Those villains, of course, are scalpers. Out to make a buck. Greedy. I've gotten so sick of this trend that I actually took steps to put a stop to one guy in particular who actually owned a store in this area dedicated to reselling new figures. I didn't stop him (yet) but I've put several chinks in the armor of his business. I've taken away a few of his connections. That's how much I hate scalping. (Note: This guy is retired from General Electric and recieves a pension check every month that is worth more than what I make actually working in a month. Of course he's decades older than me, but the point being he doesn't need the money and he doesn't need to rape our toyshelves for his personal gain. What I'm saying is that I"m not destroying his life and livelyhood because I hate what he does. We all hate scalpers, I'm just trying to make sure that if he's going to resale figures he has to get them the same way I do, by going to the store several times a week and not having someone that works there hold them for him so that we never have a chance to get them. Plus several of his activities are actually illegal.)

Sometimes I misdirect that anger at undeserving people. Thousands upon thousands of eager collectors want a Keldor. When I hear that someone has two and wants a third that just doesn't set well with me. Perhaps I am wrong. It's your right as an American to have 3,000 Keldors if you want and keep them all for yourself. That doesn't mean I have to like it. But if you were willing to pay a scalper that much money for one I guess there is nothing wrong with that.

I'm not pissed about the Keldor, as I had a chance to get it from he-man.org but couldn't bring myself to spend $30 on a Skeletor variant. (Face it, that's what it boils down to.)

I'm pissed they couldn't think of doing something like this to save the line at the US retail level. Wal-Mart, Target, and TRU especially love exclusives, and this would have been a surefire hit.

Oh well. It's gone now. Maybe Mattel should consider offering She-Ra this way to fans ALL OVER THE WORLD instead of a few thousand people in two cities in the entire world.

The whole point of this post was about American fans getting screwed. It has nothing to do with scalpers of the luck of the draw... I hate em too but stop the madness!

American fans arent getting screwed, we had our chance at the figure already.

They have yet to get any of our other exclusives including Faker, Mossman and Snake Teela. How do you think they felt when they had to sit there and watch us all get the nice toys while they had to import them at even higher prices.

isnt mattel an american based company?... i think in all fairness keldor should have been offered to u.s. fans just like in germany, maybe w/ a slight veriation from the convention figures, since that was exclusive, but the fact that they made it an exclusive to the convention, and then latter on get rid of the extras as a promotion in another country is a screw job to the american fans. screw mattel, i am offically done buying anything from mattel. hasbro has g.i joe and transformers, i guess more money for hasbro

I think Tommy has that whole flaming part covered but I will jump in and say that it does tick me off that Mattel will give people in the USA the shaft by screwing up MOTU but offer other countries freebies...

I mean come on... Mattel can't even take care of the country it works in?

I disagree. US Fans did get screwed on this one.

As far as the other exclusive goes, Snake Teela wasn't

as liked as the others were, and Mossman was designed for

the collectors to clean up after Mattel's stupidity. Fans over-seas

got it better than you think! They got the classic MOTU on dvd, and

the line will also continue across seas. American fans went through

just as much trouble with obtaining the simple figures due to the terrible

case ratios

Getting Keldor for free is basically like a stab in the back, especially for

fans who flew to both cons and came back without a Keldor.

Jer8878 has a right to be pissed off, its actually kinda hilarious. I hope Mattel

goes bankrupted as well, or just stay out of the action figure industry altogether.
