Superman Comic (jim Lee Run)

Hey guys I was just wondering if anybody has picked up issues 204 and 205 of the Superman series? I must say that I love the art as usual but the story has left me with no desire to pick up the next issues, unlike Batman Hush that had me hooked from the first issue of the story arc. Has anyone else been disappointed or is it just me?

Totally agree with you! The art is great as usual but the story just doesn't cut it! Jim Lee's artwork can only carry the book so far but the story just isn't worth picking up!

I haven't picked up any of the story arc, just skimmed through it and that was enough for me!

Azarello (sp) does not work for superman or batman. he should stick to his 100 bullets comic book. I think its a shame that Jim Lee is doing this great art but lacks a dynamic story like the one he had with Jeph Loeb.

The story is boring as hell, I'm not picking up the rest of the issues. Batman and Superman is way better (Loeb/Turner)

Actually, I don';t think Jim did a very good job on Supes. The Interior art looks very rushed in places, especially when compared with his Batman.

Totally agree with you guys, DC dropped the ball on this one. I'm just sad to see such a great artist waste his time. I'm debating if I should continue buying the rest of the story arc or just D/C (Discontinue) it. I'll probably pick up one more issue, lets see.

If I have extra cash the day it comes out I may pick it up. Otherwise I'll just read it at the shop for free.

Jeph Loeb did say that he will go back to batman with lee for the sequel to Hush, so I have THAT to look forward to....whenever that is.

Yeah I am extremly disappointed with the first 2 issues.....I mean with HUSH I was hooked after the first issue. Every ending had me wanting to know what was going to happen the next month. I couldn't wait to get the next issue.....with this I'm like "WTF???" I mean its only been 2 issues and its still early to say but I don't know. HUSH had a weak ending of sorts so maybe Supes has a slow beginning and a great ending . We'll just have to see......so far I'm not impressed. Oh the artwork is great its just the story.

it reminds me a lot of when Thundercats first came out. The art was amazing but the story was your classic WTF story. However, I stuck with it for the first 2 issues (I mean, its Ed McGuiness!) but then, it was just garbage and stopped buying the books.

Superman: Art is great and all but damn, it could use a better writer.

ps. I was also hooked with Hust from page 1.

I think you guys are missing the point. This is a character driven storyline.   @jump#

Unfortunately there isn't a driver behind it.

LOL

I'm glad you liked that pogoman! :), but as funny as it sounded, it's true.

Read the current storyline of Superman/Batman, alot better in my opinion!

I agree completely.

I also like the first issue of Identity Crisis. I wish Lee was on this one instead of that superman fiasco.

Me too! Like I said in another post, unfortunately Jim Lee is wasting his talent on the current Superman arc, damnit!
