okey so Hasbro cannot make any figures that are dead in the comics right? well then how could they make a General Flagg when he was already dead in the comics? third the figures we see in the convention sets are never going to be seen again? forth about how many figures(names) have we lost that hasbro cannot use?

I think the moritorium on making dead characters is a newer policy. As for Flagg, if you read his filecard, you'll see he's the son of the orginal Flagg!

hope that helps!

ps..........

whats 'okey figures'?

I think what they mean about making dead characters is that they will not be made and said to be alive today.

They can be made but file cards will say they died. Example.....Col. Brekhov from the Oktober Guard 3-pack.

If a dead character is made and you want to play with them like say Kwinn, you would either have to say in your Joe universe he is alive or act like it is still the 80's when you play.

The only thing exclusive to the Con are paint aps and new characters. The molds can be used again by Hasbro and probably will.

And there is a no dead character policy in the regular line(VvV) but not the comic collector packs.

The hasbro toys dont follow the comic line really at all anymore....so they can make dead characters.

Okey? What is that, a Fargo accent?

Looking up General Flaggs filecard at Yojoe.com. This question was settled a decade ago.

As for this "Rule", consider it more of a guideline, one to sidestep at the policy holder's discreton.

third the figures we see in the convention sets are never going to be seen again?

Third? General rule of thumb, if you're going to have a third, it helps to have a first and second.

However, if I understand your... curiously phrased question correctly, unless there's an official announcement by Hasbro, there's no logical reason to assume that would be the case. New figures and toys are their first priority, so there can only be so many re-issued figures per year. If we havent seen last years figures yet, there are probably good reasons behind it.

In fact weve seen the Viper since the Crimson set, the Cobra Commander body from last years convention set will be part of the comic 3-packs and Wet-Suit from the upcoming Vamp set will use the Swamp Rat body, now being used in the Dreadheads.

We WILL see the molds used in convention sets again. Its simply a matter of when.

forth about how many figures(names) have we lost that hasbro cannot use?

Forth means from a particular thing or place or position. Fourth is what follows third (Which again should follow a stated first and second)

You don't need to be so overly-critical of someone's imperfect typing skills.

As for figure names, maybe Draven79 would know? He seems very knowledgable (spelling?) on these sorts of things.

I think he's doing it on purpose. Like his claim about the broken Joes.

Oh hey, it is the same guy isn't it? Oh well.

Does anyone know if they have Ambush's name back?

Yeah Doc's post was great. I agree with him about Hector anyway. And no I believe they still do not have Ambush's name and doubt they would go out of there way to get it back.

Do you think there is much chance of getting a Flash and/or Breaker?

Id say there may be a good chance. If these initial sets do reasonably well. And I dont see why they wont. These things are remarkable.

Problem IS that the Flash mold may not be around anymore. It wasnt used in the 97 Stars & Stripes lineup. We do know his laser rifle is still around. But if we can show Hasbro that sculpting new parts CAN be profitable, maybe they might be inclined to re-cast at least SOME of his parts like his chest and upper legs and frankenstein the rest. Snake-Eyes can supply the shins, waist and upper arms and Sci-Fi v2 has similar looking forearms.

And to help defray the costs of re-casting... Can anyone say "Grand Slam?"

They could easily go the classic route and reuse Clutch's head for Breaker and Rock & Roll, but Id rather see new heads all around. Scarletts new head modified for a pivot neck on her original body would be ideal for another pack.

If Rock & Roll's original body isnt around all that really needs to be re-cast is his chest and a new head. The rest can be easily frankensteined.

Personally, I would prefer Breaker didn't have a beard, since he didn't have one in the comic.

If they don't have Rock & Roll's torso, then how about using Crossfire's? It is pretty similar and would allow the use of a ball joint head.

What about Steeler? Do they have his parts? That poor chumps been left out of everything, even the Stars and Stripes set.
