Otfcc Girls, Takara Optimus, And Smallest Tf Wave1

I've had a busy day today.

I went to pick up my shipment from BBTS from my friends house(my place is bad for mail) and got my OFTCC Roulette/Shadow Striker set. My first set of Transformers girls, and my first act as a serious collector, buying something for the sake of my collection, impressive pieces that really make the collection more interesting, but figures I really don't care for. Whatever, the price was right.

Also while I was there did some emergency surgery on my Takara reissue Optimus Prime. One of his arms was kind of sticky, so I applied some force to it and broke the smokestack clean off. Luckily, with the help of a screwdriver and some aggravation thanks to springy pieces flying everywhere, I was able to remove the stack and glue it. The break was on the inside, so now that its glued, it is still cosmetically mint. Definitely going to have to be careful, don't look forward to going through that again.

For my third act for the day, I bought a complete set of World's Smallest Transformers wave one including the Trailer, Cliffjumper and Skywarp off of Ebay through a Buy It Now auction for 160.00 with 7.00 Shipping. That's a lot of $$ for 8 small figures, but considering market price for those things, that was a pretty good deal, one I couldn't turn down. I'm still not sure I want Cliffjumper. I never planned on getting it, but I couldn't turn down the deal. Minus $40 for Cliffjumper, $120.00 for Skywarp, the Trailer and the 5 basics is a really good deal. Now all I have to decide is whether I want to keep Cliffjumper or sell it. Its kind of a weird decision since I have the whole set. A part of me wants to keep it a set, even though I really don't like the Cliffjumper figure, and would rather have the $40+ I could probably get for it to spend on something else.

Ouch! No way im ever going to break over $100 USD on a complete set of those things. I payed $75 for the complete Wave 2 with chases, I payed $22 for the basic 5 Wave 1 figures and $19 for Cliffjumper. (All those prices include shipping by the way. :D) I dont wanna break more than $35 on Skywarp or $30 on the Prime trailer. Damn inflation! @grumpy@ Enjoy your haul though Casual. :)

Can someone please enlighten me as to the appeal of these things?? I mean, I think the reissues are pricey enough (too pricey in some cases), yet people are willing to pay close to double for some of the WST figures?? Why pay so much more for something so much smaller????

Well I know im not one of those to pay so much, but what appeals to me the most is the fact that you can get a pretty close duplicate of a figure youve always wanted and not need so much space for them. :) Buy some custom boxes, you pretty much have captured part of your childhood without all the clutter. :D

Me personally, I like the Smallest Transformers beacuse they're cute. Tiny Tiny Tiny. I have all of the larger versions as well, so its also nice to have the regular and tiny ones. Do I think they are not worth the price? Totally. I'm a G1 collector though, and next to nothing is worth the price I pay for what I collect. Its not as big a deal. I want them, and $160 for the set is a fair Ebay price these days. If I wanted to pay less, I would probably have to go through a whole lot more hassle, and I'd rather just pay a bit more and not deal with it.

The common ones you can get for less than ten, its the god D&%@ chases that drive the price up. I was watching Ebay the past week and Optimus + Trailer was going 40-45 bucks, and Skywarp went for $56. That was before shipping. I've seen the 5 commons go for 30 for the set. And I want the trailer and Skywarp, I'm just crazy like that. I'm not sure I want Cliffjumper, but I now have one, and I might just keep it just because I have it. If I have Cliffjumper, I'll need an Ultra Magnus too. I had pretty much decided I didn't want either. Its interesting what possessing an entire set does to you.
