Dw Armada Profiles Book #2

I didn't see a new topic for this one... so that means either I'm blind... or no one created it yet.

...or intended too, I dunno... am I the only big time Armada fan here?

Anyway.

It is out. And it is pretty good. Of course, the Armada cast wasn't that large so the book is filled with mostly Minicons... but well... here is a bit of a rundown (since a profiles book really can't have spoilers now can it?)

-Book starts out with Jetfire... and even has his combined mode with Prime... good artwork.

-Landmilitary team is next... nice artwork

-Laserbeak looks kinda familiar

-Megatron is in it... two pages... but one is VERY disappointing. It's not new art... it's the picture off his techspec card that came with the toy. I mean, it's a good drawing and all but I really wanted something new, especially for my most favorite of characters from this line!!

-Nemisis Prime looks wicked...

-Night Attack Minicon team is there... lookin' tight

-Optimus Prime is next, and oddly only has one page. As with all TF's his Minicon is the next pic and it is of Overrun. I guess in Issue 3 we'll get a Super OP page and we'll see Sparkplug as the Minicon partner. It's not a bad picture of the most bad ass of OPs... it's a tad awkward though...

-Overload is in there after. Two pages, one of him and one of his combined mode with Prime... just like Jetfire. Good artwork, but the bio contradicts a bit what we saw in the Worlds Collide story ark.

-Predacon and both his minicons... BW fans will be happy of with his art.

-The Race Team and both their color schemes as well as a page for the Skyboom shield being wielded by Redalert. Seven pages for three minicons is a bit much.

-RedAlert follows... nothing special

-Rhinox

-Scavenger is in here with quite possibly the worst artwork I've seen in a while...

-Sea Team and there alternate colors look cool, but take up alot of space... six pages.

-Sideswipe is drawn very cool. He's definately a character that's design had alot of potential... it is definately a true shame about not being able to say as much about his toy.

-And Sideways ends the book. They are definately using alot of the cartoons themes and in him it shows...

The next book will start with Skywarp most likely which pleases me greately. Overall I believe this book was better then the first one... however the huge disappointment with Megatron really hurt. And OP could have been put into better hands, or at least given a better pose. All in all... I'd say JAM!!

There is no mention of Ultra Magnus...

As with the first Armada Profiles book they show the Minicons that had the same name and two versions of color scheme twice, but they do not show the Autobots or Decepticons that had Powerlinx themes...

Oddly, in the first book they have Megatrons repaint Galvatron and even a profile for him... this I did not like. It conflicts greatly with pretty much everything established by DW and follows the cartoon story. Same with Nemesis Prime... total bite off the cartoon in this DW book.

I'm sure they will make an Energon Profiles book... no doubt Ultra Magnus will be shown there. If he follows suit with Overloads profile you're gonna be a bit disappointed... he's more of a mech that a minicon rides and less an individual Autobot personality.

Yeh... it's like that.

I agree DW did a great job on the book, but come on, a ONE page listing for Optimus??? Megatron was given a two-page spread, surely Prime deserves the same. Yes, Prime does get additional pages elsewhere in the book for the Overload and Jetfire mods, but it just isn't the same. It's PRIME, for cryinoutloud...

I actually like this one a lot better than the previous version for some reason. Maybe I thought that the writing was better? I don't know but the one-page Optimus thing didn't bother me. I did like the Nemesis prime profile and the sideways one as well. Can'yt wait for unicron!
