Favorite G1 Refrence In Beast Wars

Hmmm with an Act I'll have to go with when they go back to the Ark and all the G1 Tranformers are lying around dead after the crash. Also when ravage transform's into the casette.

Reference my favorite quote is when Ravage is about to die and stands proud and yells DECEPTIONS FOREVER!!!

Also when Megatron takes the original G1 Megatron's spark to combine into the Dragon and Megatron tells Optimal Optimus Do you think you can stand the fury of BOTH Megatrons. Or something like that? :D

@loll@ @loll@ Yup, I gotta go with Starscream. The guy who voiced BW Starscream even tried to impersonate Chris Latta voice. I thought that was a well touch.

The comment about die-cast is my favorite G1 moment. It was so funny and true at the same time.

That's my favorite, too.

I like every G1 reference in BW, and I cannot pick favorites.

How about this one "What in the name of my Great Aunt Arcee...."

Or "Die cast construction, its lost art."

"Decepticons Forever!!!"

"If there is anything worse than a stinkin Pred, is a stinkin Decepticon!"

"I am Shrapnel, Decepticon hero!"

"I am Shrapnel, Decepticon hero!"

Was there ever an explanation for why Waspinator (right?) said that when he was hit on the head?

Nope, don't think so....maybe he was originally shrapnel and got reprogrammed (although i highly doubt it -- waspinators much cooler :) )

>>Was there ever an explanation for why Waspinator (right?) said that when he was hit on the head?>>

Easy answer? It was a joke, a nod to G1 fans that Bob and Larry knew were watching (back in 1996/97, the two used to frequent the UseNet group alt.toys.transformers). No explanation because it wasn't supposed to be serious. Waspinator's just a weird enough character to pull off such a wacky reference.

Long, geek fanboy explanation for those freaks who just *need* an answer for what's supposed to be a fun aside?

As we learned in Beast Wars, the soul, or the essence of a Transformer is transferable to other bodies, and with the proper programming, can become a completely new Transformer. Even further, in Beast Machines, the notion of the AllSpark, or a TF heaven, where sparks go to and come from gives rise to the theory of robotic reincarnation, where a single spark may extinguish with one body to be reborn in some way in a new body later on.

With these ever-lasting sparks carrying the personality of past TFs within them, somehow (Starscream's spark carried all his' physical body's memories, ambitions, etc), it is possible that the Decepticon once known as Shrapnel through either a series of deaths, or simple rebuilding and reprogramming (obviously more thoroughly than Ravage), became the Predacon Waspinator.

OR

Waspinator, while studying Decepticon archives before the original Pred team stole the Golden Disks, uploaded info on Shrapnel that accidentally took over his vocal programming when Rhinox slugged him.

And before anyone knocks me for saying "geek fanboy", I was one of the freaks who *pioneered* some of these theories, so I'm poking fun at me, not those who're asking!

the very last episode of beast wars in season one (that 2 part episode) where Megatron is talking to Inferno i think and there is this shelf of stuff and one is a TF's head, the trophy, a bowling pin, and G1 Megatron's scope/arm gun blaster thing.

I wish they would have let the beast wars continue at least one more season instead of turning to Beast Machines. I would have liked for them to have found out more about there G1 counterparts and such.

Ravage is standing on the bridge of his ship, raises a fist into the air and shouts out, "DECEPTICONS FOREVER!"

He then transforms into his old alt-cassette mode, with the original Sunbow transformation sound effects, and pops into a cassette deck.

I never really felt any real 'connection' between Transformers and Beast Wars, the two series were just so different and I've always preferred machine alt forms to animals so the Beast Wars saga (which went on a little too long in my opinion) really never hit any of by Transformer buttons until I saw that scene which aired nearer the end of the series when the old school Transformers started to make a comeback. I've always rooted for the Decepticons, they were always the ones I owed allegiance too and I just felt a swell of glee and pride rise up in me. Little did I know what kind of a ressurection they would soon have.

And since a lot of others also seem to agree that scene was a favorite of there's I think it holds significant meaning for us TF fans.
