G1 Episode Review Of The Week

Yes that's right. I took the three part ep and seperated it for people with tight schedules. This week is part one. It starts of in a Middle Eastern country where the leader has converted his palace into a solar power plant. The Decepticon Seekers attack and play around with the mataraza. The Autobots arrive via water skies made by Wheeljack. Meanwhile, Megatron and his new ally, Dr Acheville, watch from Decepticon HQ. Megs orders Soundwave to capture a test subject for the Doctors experiment. Rumble and Ravage create a ruckus and Laserbeak captures Sparkplug. The Seekers leave and it makes Optimus Prime wonder. Dr Acheville implants a mind control chip and commands Sparkplug to attack an Optimus clone. Back at the Ark, Spike is worried about his dad. Prowl comes up with a plan and the Autobots storm Decepticon HQ. They rescue Sparkplug and return to HQ. The mind controlled SParkplug short circuits the Autobots and Teletran 1. The Decepticons attack but Spike throws SParkplug's wrench into the computer and fire retartand foam stops them. The Decepticons retreat and Old Man Witwicky follows suit. The Decepticons then get ready to bring Cybertron into Earth's orbit. The AUtobots then go to investigate but get stopped by human slaves. Spike tries to talk with Sparkplug but doesn't get very far. Sparkplug then activates the first of three pylons to bring Cybertron into Earth's orbit. Thundercracker does the second one. Optimus Prime stops Megatron from activating the third. Megatron tells Prime if its not activated then Cybertron will be destroyed. Optimus Prime then activates the third and Cybertron is brought into Earth's orbit. "Have I saved Cybertron only to destroy the Earth?"

What will happen next? Stay tunded for next week is part 2!

I may have liked this ep but their are a lot of flaws.

-how in the world does Rumble and Ravage break into the Ark without Teletran 1 setting off the alarm?

-While Megs and Dr Acheville are talking, Megs has NO lips until he starts to talk.

-There are many instances when the TFs are speaking but the lips are not moving.

-All three seekers may be present when they bring in an Optimus Prime clone, but Skywarp cowers in fear speaking in Starscream's voice.

-Many of the Transformation sequences in this ep are out of whack with the actual toys tfing.

I know this episode VERY well... me and my friend once attempted to write a fanfic of sorts about a story that takes place just prior to this episode to describe HOW Megatron meets the good Doctor.

Although there are ALOT of animation flaws in this episode... it is one of the best story arcs of all G1. It makes EXCELLENT use out of the Transformers having there war brought to Earth. Fleshlings and there control AND planets Destruction... all taken into account.

Intersting to note how Cyberton is scaled. At that rate... all the Tranformers from Seasons 1 and 2 alone wouldn't be albe to fit on it at the same time. No wonder they're fighting... for the right to stand and breathe with no one in your face right?

Also to note... from this episode on, Cybertron can be returned to. The Space Bridges can obviously now be built to any size imaginable. Had they wanted to, the Autobots AND Decepticons all could have left Earth for good with the technolgy they clearly had during this episode.

Shame they never make more use of the Rahaja's Palace... his Solar Device could have been a whole 'nuther episode in itself.

I like how Sparkplug tosses Optimus Prime by the way. Makes you wonder about just how much Transformers weight and what kinda drugs Sparkplug was using back in '84.

Slag-" Which, ones, friends,?"

Sludge-"Ahh, Ones, with face like this, I think....?"

Slag- " That good enough for , Slag !"

Wrong episode bro. That was SOS Dinobots.

Actually SG, I look at Cybertron as huge. Just the way its drawn is smaller than its actual size. Now we are only doing part 1 this week. I like how Sparkplug is the one who fights back from the good doctor's mindcontrol.

Is that the ep where Ratchet, Huffer and someone else are blown out of the volcano and Skyfire appears out out nowhere and catches them or is that pt 2? (been a while)

Its part 2 and I don't think it exactly happened like that. This is the ep where they bring Cybertron into Earth's orbit at the end. "The AUtobots have been successfully diverted. Begin phase 2 of the operation."

This ep (and its two other parts) are ok for me. I'm not a huge fan of the story itself, but I like that there is a decent amount of character development of the arc itself. Good use of all of the characters

Oh yeah...I always found Dr. Archeville to be annoying as hell. Where did he come from anyway?

Megatron would use any means to get what he desired, even if it meant teaming up with a low life scumbag like Dr Acheville. This was almost a bridge of things to come for the rest of the series.

I did notice that AFS. I still will always look at Rumble is Blue and Frenzy is red.
