Tf Cartoon Art

I think that the G1 show is classic and all but I also think that Energon's art is wayy more advanced....I don't like the Energon robots' shapes/designs as much as the G1's, of course, but that 3D graphic thing Energon has makes it seem so cool...I probably wouldn't be interested in Energon if it weren't for those special effects...alota E characters suck, but there are a few good ones, I'll admit...most of them Decepticons (Megatron, Scorpanok, Demolisher, and Starscream has potential)...the Autobots?? Eh...maybe Strongarm...his voice kinda sounds like G1 Ratchet's....Hot Shot is decent...don't care that much about Iron Hide...think he needs a makeover...new sheet metal would make me like him a lot more...but it's really the Decepticons and that art I mentioned earlier that make the show, IMO...the G1 cartoon was cool but it had some flaws art-wise...Beast Wars was fiduckin' awsome but I don't think that it can be categorized as a cartoon...it was CGI stuff....not quite the same as a cartoon, IMO...but maybe it is pretty much a cartoon... what do you guys think?? What's your favorite TV representation of the TFs?? Mine is probably Beast Wars (even though I don't consider it a cartoon) with Energon comin' in second...G1 on DVD puts me to sleep...I know it does the same with others, too... @hmmm@ could it be OVERRATED?? Lemme know...

I like Energon's artwork too. It's a cool mix of G1 design for the modern generation.

I especially like Rodimus' re-design. Galvatron looks pretty cool too.

Exactly!! :)...Megatron's new look kicks ass...he is one bad motherf#@^er....can't wait 'till Rodimus shows up in the cartoon, either...

Personally I don't like the CGI on Superlink Aka Energon, to me it doesn't mix well with the cel animation for the backgrounds and human characters, and the robots move too fast for my liking, if they'd have done it all in CGI with a decent company like Mainframe, or just done it completely with your standard cel animation (As they seem to have a much bigger budget for the cel animation on this show than they did with the bloody awful Armada series) and left out the CGI completely and of course written the toon for the western audience and recorded the voices before animating it instead of writing the story for a Japanese audience then bringing it over to North America and badly dubbing and badly re-writing the show again (like they did with Armada and RID before that) then I would've liked it better.

@loll@ @loll@ Me, I hate it. I don't know but it's like I'm watching two different things. I mean the background is sort in static while the foreground are more dynamic. You see robot running but the background stay in one place. The colors are just too bright. The arts to me is just okay. Overall, it's not my taste. I guess I'm just not into this CGI stuff unless it's in the quality of Final Fantasy movie level.

Not a big fan of energon's blocky CGI either. It doesn't mesh well enough with the traditional animation which is pretty nicely done. Maybe when and if it gets more advanced it will look a little smoother.

I appreciate the CG of Energon... but I do not enjoy it as much...

I'm gonna say my favorite TF Cartoon Art...

Armada!

They were HIGHLY inconsistant with their senior artists... but when they used them... like in Episode 1 and Episode 52 (the final fight between Megatron and Prime) and sparsely inbetween for animations such as their Transformations... they were REALLY good.

If only they always drew at THAT level... then wow... I'd be impressed.

But since they did not... I'm honestly gonna say G1 was my favorite to see. Episdoes like "Call of the Primitives" had FANTASTIC art.

I think the art is all a matter of taste. SOme may like it and some may hate it. Just because they look cool doesn't make me watch a show. If I am watching it and I am bored, I flip the channel. Energon so far has kept watching each episode more so than Armada. Beast Wars may have had the best story, but the CG was only as good as its time. There have been improvements, but I prefer cel animation. What drives me nuts is the story for TFs is no longer written for western audiences. BUT, you must remember that most of the animation nowadays is all Japanese Anime brought over here. ITs sad but true. Almost wish we could have the writers for Justice League writting TFs.

Justice Leauge writers are amazing,

and I even gotta admit I like the Teen Titans writers...

The "classic" Japanese Anime writers try to appeal to both Western and Eastern Culture...

Cowboy Bebop.

Trigun.

Even some of the slightly lower anime like Inuyashia is written brilliantly for BOTH cultures.

It is possible.

...Hasbro just didn't hire the right team is all.

We don't know how well this show is recieved by the Eastern Culture... or at least I don't know... I'd like to find out.
