Basically I mean, watching the cartoon gives some of these crummy figures personality.For instance, Armada Sideswipe,a nice toy to me,others hate it,but this toy appeals to me more because he was featured in the cartoon,so he was a must buy for me,the same with Scavenger, and Rhinox even though it was only a flash of him.Just wondering does anyone else pick up Tf's with molds they're not to crazy about but you liked them on the toon so you bought.

Not always, but for example I got ARmada Scavneger because I liked him in the cartoon. I wanted to get all the armada characters in the toon and the seekers, but was unable to

I haven't got any that wasn't in the cartoons. BT is exeption. So yes, being in the toon is a major factor. But armada scavenger doesn't really rock me, so that one for example not. Toy has to be great too.

Almost immediately after watching the first Energon episode, I was at Wal-Mart purchasing Inferno and Hot Shot. When passing by them before the show came out, I had no idea they combined the way they did... So yes, being in the cartoon did help push me to buy them!

Actually It would really suck if that universe listing with wath appears to be constructicons (rid landfill repaint) comes out. No Scrapper in there

Sure do...a lot of that Armada stuff was crap but I bought it anyway because of the cartoon...I'm not gonna do that this time, with Energon...savin' my ca$h for Alternators...I just love 'em ...

Even as a kid I was always one to be swayed by comics and toons. Now I can't say that I'm swayed much these days as an adult by the cartoon, but the Dreamwave comics really get me excited. Is that silly of me? I think the Dreamwave comics really were the motivating factor other than the re-issues that got be back into collecting Transformers full-time. But nah...the toon doesn't do much for me really. I saw it once and thought it was silly, even though I loved the cell-shaded CGI animation.

I learned my lesson with RiD. If its in the toon, I'll buy the toy. With G1, I am doing the same thing. I intend to eventually get every G1 toy that was in the cartoon. With RiD I went overboard trying to get every single blasted fig. I gave up when the Destructicons came out. Not to mention I missed out on Bruticus. With Armada, I did the same thing. I liked Scavenger's character as well as Sideswipe's, so I bought the toys regardless. I personally don't like the toys, but they were in the toon.

Thats exactly what I do. That way you can save money to spend on other stuff.

I definitely have to say yes. Thats why, after seeing Energon episodes 6 & 7, Megatron & Starscream came up on my radar. @sonar@ Im more into "character" of figures than anything, but Im also buying Superlink Scorpinok for the figure itself.
