Dc Figures Customed Into Marvel Legens Style?,

I'm about to start taking DC characters and customizing them using Marvel legends. I'm interested in knowing what ML figures you guys think would make the best bases for some of these characters.

Starting off I want to make the following:

Aguaman( thinking about his orange shirt green pants look)

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

Flash

Nightwing

Robin (Tim Drake)

Batman

Then I want to move onto villians primarily Batman villians, like

Bane, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Joker. I"m looking to have these guys be as poseable as possile as well.

Once a figure is finished I'd post it up on my site so you could all see it and check it out.

Any suggestions would be great

Thanks

I think it is important to consider relative size of characters.

Somone posted that thye made a Superman out of Thor once and I thought that was way to big of a guy to be Clark Kent you know. And we have all seen the DD body used for near everything.

Nightwing

Any of the X-Men movie figs in the black suits would work for Nightwing. Not to tall or too skinny.

Bane

Thor is great to use for bane, Big but not Hulk big.

Flash

Got to go with the stand by DD body

Batman

Cap or Punisher. Cap would be the best but I cant find one and Punisher is allover.

Robin

Mr.Fantastic with a lot of added detail could work.

Green Lantern

Gambit works for me. He'll need a fist hand.

Scarcrow

Thats Easy Hobgoblin

Joker

Red Skull would work as a start.

killerCrock

A lot of work no matter what you start with. The New SMC Rino could work.

Aquaman

Use Namor lol ,

Cool guys thanks for the suggestion and links. I've been looking at some figures for bases and I think this is what I'm going with

Aquaman-definatley Namor(plus I can use the little fins on Namor's legs for the Flash's head wings, I think I'll have to look closer when I get him)

Flash-I think I'm going with Mr Fantastic's body for this. I"m going to sculpt it up some, but I like the Justice League version of Flash, a little bit leaner than the other guys due to his metabolism.

Green Lantern-I'm going to go with the Silver Surfer body (no leg straps to shave off) His body is also bulkier which will suit my Hal Jordan idea. Plus I'll be changin the muscle structrue some to be less "ripped".

Batman-No Man Land/Movie version I'm going to go with Dardevil figure modified. I have most of it done and it looks pretty cool. Added some mucle to the figure and looks good. Not perfect yet.

Robin-I'm thining Archangel from the X-men classics line. He is thinner and looks to be shorter as well.

Nighwing-I'll proably go with the Dardevil/silver surfer body, shaving down some muscle and re-defining in other places.

Bane- I like the suggestion of Thor and I think I'll use that.

Killer Croc-Might end up being some Hulk figure that gets mutilated. I have to see.

Now what do you guys think would be a good idea for the heads to these guys? On that one I'm drawing a blank. I won't be able to afford to buy DC direct figures just for the heads so I need some alternatives.

Those DC Direct figs are way to spendy even if you want the whole fig. They cant do anything but stand. I am with you on ML customes. I Have the DCD Superman and did I feel ripped off when I opened it.

With Robin and Nightwing I would go with Mr.Fantastics Head or Gambit could work. Or Movie Peter Parker head.

Aquaman hmm? Magneto's head could work well.

Batman I used a Punisher head. His jaw line works verywell.

With Flash DD heads is a no Brainer.

Banes head is pretty easy rip thors hair off add some sculpt?

Maybe Green Lantern would be better with Mr,Fantastic Head or the first Magneto head.

Killercroc Might ye find an old one from an earlier version?

I keep thinking theres a why to use the Movie Goblin head. The one with the removeable mask.

Los & I are doing a JLA ML style for Custom Con. I've done 2 Batman ML styles (one is posted here:

http://www.banned/custom/Galleries/G...ken/glaken.htm) My recipe for BM is there which is primarily a DD 2 conversion. The New XMC Gambit makes a good GL body and I used a Jakks Pacific Jeff Gordon figure head for his head (but I'm doing a Kyle Rayner modern version). As for Robin, I'd use a SC Para Spidey body and maybe a Peter parker head. Nightwing, I'd use a DD2 body. Aquaman I'm using a Namor body and sculpting the details. As for a head, look to the HeMan figures. Flash=DD2 body with repaint and namor wings.

Bad guys: Look at Smart Hulk for Bane (or Thor's pretty good too), Killer Croc would be the Original Lizard figure (although the new Killer Croc in the Batman line looks pretty good if you want to just add some articulation). I like Hobgoblin as Scarecrow & maybe just get a Joker from the new Batman line and add articulation or use a Jameson from the spiderman movie line or even Osborn so you get the slacks style pants.

I had an Idea on the Joker Then I completely forgot it.

But A head for Scarecrow I just saw some Blan B figures over the weekend and they have changeable heads. The one for the Terroist looks perfect. They have a pic at the Plan B site.

http://www.plan-btoys.com/mission2.html Its in the lower right corner.

Plan B has some great items to use for cutoms. It is just a pain in the arse to find them.

what we did here in the Philippines is:

Duhh... used DD for Flash

what i did with my Aquaman is like this, i used

Eomir (LOTR) as for its head, Namor for it's body, did some sculpy on the armor, custom made hook, and a spiderman lower body(i think its the spidey with the squirt mechanism)... and i mean that worked for me man...

Punisher for batman....

Rogue you can make Wonder Woman (need alot of dremeling etc)

Gambit you can make Kyle Rayner's old costume (need alot of sculpy work)

Magneto can be Martian Manhunter if you can remold the head it is posible.

Mr. Fantastic a no brainer can be made as Plasticman

i can't think of any ML for Superman.... but i know a guy here use Legolas head for Supes....

Thanks for the suggestions

Right now I have a

Namor figure-May use the entire figure including head for Aquaman.

Silver Surfer-possibly Green Lanter (Hal Jordan)

Mr. Fantastic-most likely Flash(may use the head for Hal Jordan but not sure, I may go with a wrestling figure head if I can find one that looks like him. I know nothing about Wrestling so this should be interesting)

Archangel-probably Robin or Nighwing(the head is pretty cool Not sure if I'm going to use the head for Robin, Nighwing, or Flash.

Batman-is pretty much finsihed just need to make a cape for him.

Glaken I look foward to seeing your customs at Custom Con.

Hope I didn't sound short in my reply, I'm just excited about showing these at Custom Con. Los5of& & I have been going crazy trying to finish them. I'm gonna post mine on boards too once they go live on the Con. I'm just sending in one pose of each for CC but I'm gonna take bunches of others to show articulation. we've done all the heavy hitters and some of the second teir characters. I think you'll like them.

For wrestling figures to be Hal you could use Hurricane lol... he has the mask on.

That would be great. You would have to email a pic to him a wwe.com

For a cape for BAtman I found a Vampire Dude at KB on clerance and it is totally the boom for Batts.

Also Redeamer Spawn has a killer cape. Thats if you want a molded cape.

Dude EOMER!

For Aquaman.

His head is perfect for the Spear Handed King of the & seas gnarly dude Aquaman!

You see I have a problem.

I can think of all these great ideas for customs and I do not have the time or workspace.

My wife was none to pleased with the on going mess in the livingroom when I made the few customs I have done so I will be chilling for a while.

So if anyone does anything with any of my ideas I would love to see it.

Only problem with the WWE figs is that they are way out of scale with the ML stuff, but if you don't care, they cold be great fodder (except that they are way too expensive).

I've thought about using LOTR parts and I actually plan on using some of them for some stuff. Eomer would be great for the hook handed aquaman.
