O man tough, tough choice man but I think I will have to pick The Kirk And Spock...

I would love all of those to be made, the Salt-Sucking creature would rule!

Id like an alien pack with Nomad, a Melkot and a Tholian. That might work as a single pack figure. Add some fuzzy little Tribbles from the greenshirt Kirk Minimate as accs.

Tough choice. But I decided to go with Kang and Kor, as neither have had figures ever before, and at least one TOS style Klingon is an absolute MUST

I have to go with Kirk and Spock. These are version of these characters most fans have wanted for a long time and we've never gotten them done nicely. Plus the classic movie era has been disproportionately ignored when compared to level of sucess vs. action figure/product.

In my opinion anyway

They have been done nicely. There was a movie Uniform Kirk in the Genrerations line. Barring the reduces articulatio it was quite well sculpted and had a good Shatner likeness. Kirk and Spock were also done in 12" scale as a Kay Bee exclusive Those were good as well. And Ertl even put out those two in movie uniforms with the STIII 3 3/4" line, which worked pretty well with GI Joe.So they HAVE been done nicely.

What they ought to do first is finish off the Mirror Mirror crew before working on any other versions of the crew. Finish what you start.

Speaking of which, they also need to round off the ENT crew with Phlox and Hoshi in regular duty iniforms and Reed & Mayweather in Away Team spacesuits (These two would be easy enought to frankenstein) and T'Pol in her recent outfit (Two color variations, one can be an exclusive of some sort)

I would love to see them do TOS movie crew, but Id kind of like to see the main cast of some the other shows first like DS9 and Voyager first. Take the TOS line's approachj and split the main cast over two waves, with a prominent villain and/or alien race or two per wave

Doc Evil, In my opinion they haven't and not to the level I'd like to see.

I respect your opinion now respect mine.

Thank you

If the line sells well enough. But they sorely need more retailers to carry the line.

Yea I agree I wish TRU and like Target, and Walmart would get them so that they would not be so expensive!

Starting their Trek line off with a new unproven property like Enterprise may have hurt the line and gotten it off to a bad start. At least as far as Ive observed with my local retailers the Delxe figures and NX-01 had to be clearanced pretty heavily at Target before any of them sold. The NX-01 and Phase Pistol are rotting on the shelves still at TRU. And as you pointed out the high prices didnt help things at all.

So while figures from more established lines like TOS and TNG would have a better chance at success than Enterprise (Even though I dislike the show, I have to admit AA did an absolutely superb job with the toys) I can see the reasoning behind more retailers not carrying them, even if I do dislike it. No one wants to make a bad investment.

I really wish the line was more successful. Say what you will about Playmates. They DID manage to keep their line afloat in both the collector and normal market. And despite making it's share of mistakes, Playmates DID manage to put out some pretty good stuff.

Yeah this has been a tough line to keep afloat. First Star Trek just isn't as popular as it was when Playmates started out doing the line. Second cause Enterprise was the going show at the time that was the line Paramount wanted to push, but the show just hasn't been that sucessfull and neither were the toys. Then the new movie came up and this was a chance to push Next Gen stuff but then that movie basically bombed and the toys for that line didnt do well either. So after that retailer basically refused to touch this line at least the large chains like TRU and Target. So when AA finally got the chance to do the classic stuff the retailers wouldn't even consider carring them based on the sales of Enterprise and Nemesis. From what I am told the Classic figures have had pretty strong sales even with the limited retail support for it. The ships and role-play havent been as strong though which is why there isnt that much effort being put into them right now. Its a real shame and hopefully one of the larger retailers will eventually realize despite the sales of Enterprise and Nemesis there has been a pretty decent following of the classic stuff since the 60's and that these current figures can still sell pretty decent based on that following. Unless sonething comes along and puts the fire back in Star Trek in general I dont think you will ever see the supprt for a toy line like you did during Playmates hayday.

I agree. It's too bad Art Asylum originally wanted to release the Classic figures first. Paramount wanted them to support the t.v show and Nemesis instead. So unfortuntely again AA had to bow to the wishes of Paramount. Enterprise (although greatly improved) didn't hit the level of sucess they wanted and Nemesis didn't do well(I still think if the Data and Picard beginning scene had been left in it would of done a world of diiference to raise the stakes and lay down what these chracters were going through, imagin ST II without the Bones and Kirk scene).

I think if the Classic figures had been released the entire line would of done really well. Iconic images such as the bridge stations not to mention the characters themselves are familiar and stirke some form of chord with most people. Not too many people were DYING to have Archer's command chair, it was still too knew and not really that identifiable.

New Force Comics posted over on the AA board that this would be the line-up for series 3

Salt Vampire

Klingon

Orion Slave Girl

Gorn

Gold Shirt kirk...

I have to say that im a little disapointed. I already have the yellow shirt Kirk and after looking at the results on the main page, the salt vampire doesn't seem to be getting many votes, indicating alot of people aren't going to be interested in it. I wouldn't mind the Salt Vampire but dont really want another Yellow Kirk or a TOS Klingon. I would much rather see a STII Kirk and Spock.

I hope the YSK gets some notable differences.

I am pleased with the Klingon, Gorn and Orion Slave Girl.

Proof that Paramount and its executives are Star Trek's greatest enemy.

I agree again. Even Bakula was giving them crap about the fact that they keep putting the show in re-runs evertime they begin to pick up an audience. I'ts happened the last two times before they went on hiatus. There was a gradual increase in viewership they get high ratings and they give the show a break so all those people who started tuning in go away and they have to work on building it up again.
