Has Anyone Tried Removing Alt Sideswipe's Symbol?

Just picked up Side Swipe over the weekend, and I'd like to get rid of the rather glaring Autobot symbol. I might replace it with one only visible in bot mode, but the one in Viper mode is really out of place (I might do something about the one on the license plate as well).

Just wondering if anyone else has tried this, and if so how they went about it, and how successful was the attempt.

P.S. Anyone else find that SS's instructions are pretty useless? If you follow them, he's not even fully transformed after the final step.

As blatent as that sticker is, on his stomach like that... I wouldn't recommend removing it unless you damn sure know what you're doing. A nasty scrath there could definately kill the appearence of your fig ya know? You might wanna find something to test on first.

I agree with you his instructions are MIGHTY flawed as well.

Ah hell, just go for it. Worst case scenario, you have to repaint the black area - which would probably improve its overall appearance anyway. (Painted plastic always looks better than color-molded.)

Even worse worst-case scenario: You're out $20 and you go buy another one. :P

Okay, absolutely the-worst-ever-possible-worst-case scenario: You go to buy the thinner, and a pack of rabid pygmy llamas accost you in the parking lot, leaving you a cribbled, quivering heap of flesh. Consequently, you never find the cure for cancer, poverty, AIDS, and male pattern baldness as you were intended and instead spend the rest of your days locked in your house with your 14 dogs, a.k.a. your "llama sentries". @loll@ @jump#

I'd use goo-gone, a very small dab amount. Anything you use will also attack the black paint. If you do it right though it should remove the tampo without damaging the paint. Timing and amount will be crucial.

um.. isn't the black color part of the plastic?

thats what i was thinking, maybe he is talking about the BT version?

No that area of the alternator is originally red plastic painted black. Take a look on the back and sides of that piece.

You've tried this on Side Swipe, or is it just a general suggestion?

I did it on Smokescreen to get all of those ads off of it, it worked just fine, and I don't see why Sideswipe's paint op would be any different. I haven't done it yet though.
