I have been discusing this with a few people. I just need to find out how the turnout would be. Anyway If some transfans decided to start another convention for transformers in the dead point for conventions. Would you go. Keep in mind this is The Virginia Beach area. Next is who know what all goes into setting one of these up.

do you need hasbro's permission. not certain about that sort of thing. if it works out, you could always contact dreamwave for a special cover, can't see them saying no to that.

I see absoloutely no reason why you should need Hasbro's permission.

I just have to figure out how to scrounge up the money to get this going, but I am all for doing this. It could be alot of fun.

Well If we deciede to do it I have some capital if need be. However I dont think you need to much cause of tickets and dealers it should be covered. Ill talk to Joey (comic Kings) and see what some of the first things he does to start a show. I bet he would like to be part as well.

I've never done anything like this, but I would think the serious money would come from renting out the venue/hotel convention room/etc. Outside of that, it's just a matter of getting dealers/vendors to set up shop, and then advertising your @$$ off to get people to show up. Some guest appearances would be nice too, but then you have to pay their fee, fly them out, put them up in a hotel, etc. etc. Too much work for not much draw, methinks. <_<

If you go ahead w/ this, best of luck to ya, and I'll make the drive from Cleveland, OH to VA!

sounds like you guys might have something there...but getting the initial captial to do this might be a little hard, unless you hold it in a crappy place...Having hasbro sponsor it would be cool because then you could hit them up for convention exclusives.

I always wondered how you could get Hasbro to give you exclusive figs, my guess is that you just contact them and tell them you want a certain fig / color options (sign contract blah stuff like that) , and order a larget quanity of them. I noticed BBTS had an exclusive awhile ago (didn't seem like it did to well though....)

I think we shouldn't focus on the conviention, but more on getting hasbro to make us an exclusive so that we can sell it....(i would be willing to put some money in for a nice repaint of a good figure, maybe a black Alt or something...)

What do you guys think?
