Actually one wave that comes with Hawkgirl and a Superman is based on a upcoming JL episode were Hawkgirl's people attack Earth. The other wave has these robot things created by Lex Luthor that once you have all the parts forms a giant robot. They did not have it put together there so I did not see the large robot but they said it would look pretty good. We got Groth and still Darkseid to be released for additional villians.

 

The new Batman Animated figures look very nice. Done by the 4 Horsemen and they do have articulation. They are a liitle taller than the JL figures.

Where is Aquaman!!!!!!!!!!!!? @grumpy@ But seriously the Ultra Humanite looks cool, I would have never guessed he would be made. I LOVE the new Hawkgirl! I'm disappointed there aren't any guest heroes. And why would Mattel make the Batman cartoon figs bigger than Jl?

Im not sure why they are bigger, though they are only a little bigger. If I had to guess it would be because the sculpts for the new Batman animated figures are bit more detailed, they were done by the 4 horsemen.

If they have to keep reheashing the main characters, I think it'd be cool if they threw in 'alternative universe' versions, like the "Justice Lords"

If they can produce 20 different versions of Batman, why not include something that actually appeared in JL?

This direction that Mattel is taking with the JL is terrible.

 

One new villian, which is not even a major villian, just some monkey. How about a Shade, Saphire, Joker, Gorilla Grod (sp), Grundy, Darkseid, the Justice Lords, The Green Lantern Corps, Bruce Wayne, etc. etc etc.

 

Instead we get the same figures with more accesories. I call them shelf warmers and a waste of space.

 

The only good thing is the Watchtower which looks decent so far.

I posted this on the DC forum, but I think it applies here as well. The Ultrahumanite by the way, is a major villian in the DC universe - he's been around since the JSA, in various incarnations. As an old school DC fan, the Ultrahumanite makes me happy.

 

Since these toys are aimed at kids, I think they're doing pretty well. They are releasing the core characters, with enough differences that kids will still want parents to purchase them. They throw in the villian every wave or so, Lex, Darkseid and Ultrahumanite, and kids are happy. I think they are progressing in terms of articulation, compared to the first series that was put out. The playsets look decent.

 

Overall, if MOTU and the regular Batman lines were done like JLA, I'd be much happier. MOTU would probably be on the shelves and we wouldn't be upset about endless repaints in the Batman lines.

Ya pogo they warm the pegs but mainly just the batmans & supermans... some of the others do to but they go sooner or latter...

"Groth" you mean Gorilla Grodd...and if so is that besides the Ultra Humanite? Grodd would be easy to make if they retool Humanite! #US1#

Damn! Still, with Mattel's knack for making figures at cheaply as they could a retooled Humanite would make a great Grodd figure!

With Lex, Humanite and the animated Joker, we might just get a 4 pack with an exclusive figure like Hasblow did...that would shut us up for a while! They could make somebody like Saphire or Cheeta, who they wouldn't make other wise...

we are getting Darkseid, and Joker we have from the animated Batman 2 pack...

Grodd could easily be retooled from Humanite, I think we would be the next villain based on how easy it would be for Mattel to make him! Shade and Grundy are good candidates, I hope we get them!

 

Considering Mattel's resistance to making females and villains, I doubt we will ever see a female villain like Saphire, Morgan, Volcana or Cheeta...hell we are lucky we have Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman

 

I would love to see the animated two face or lex retooled into Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent, I think that would actually make a cool two pack, Clark and superman, and Batman with Bruce.
