Some News And Notes

Star Trek: The Movie Kirk And Spock are in discussion but several retailers have voiced concern that another Kirk and Spock would not sell. Normally I would agree, but I know I and I think many other collectors would love to see a line a movie figures done. We are gonna be running a poll later wich some choices but what do you all think. Would you rather have movie versions of the crew or more aliens?

LOTR Minimates. Look for Tower Record to offer the Soaroun as a special exclusive with the ROTK DVD set. Something like if you pre-order the DVD you get one free and then later offered at a disct if you buy the DVD set there. Stay tuned for more details on that.

Marvel Minimates. Not much new to report there. I love the Cap, he is awsome.

AOME LOTR. im told we can look for some cool stuff coming out later to go along with the extended version DVD based on cut scenes.

DC Minimates. These looked great. I will note many of the sets shown here will have changes to color aps and such. These are not the final versions. So if the colors look a little off on some of them, then not to worry they are still working on them. The coolest set was the Batman Mansion/Batcave. You got so reall cool features including little cards that fit into the Batcomputer Batcave that give you info about different characters and such. A Bruce Wayne figure you can change into Batman and of course ol' Alfred.

Also I got to see a clip of the new upcoming Batman Animated sereies and I have to say I was very impressed with what I saw. Those who have been worried about animation, I think will be very pleased.

Well thats it for now, off to Hasbro. Check back later this morning for more.

Well for me I am like Star Treks # 1 fan (At least I think @hmmm@ @smilepunch@ ) and I will buy like everything and having the movie crew be made would be awesome...

I would rather start having more Klingons, and other aliens than having a bunch of different kirks and Spocks but like in most lines the main characters always get more than 10 figures in a line look at Spiderman, ML Wolverines, batman etc...

If it is duty outfits I don't mind getting differerent versions.

It's the shirtless Kirks and wet & wild Spocks(when he was swimming with the whales) and the ones like that I could do without.

How about if the Away Team Reed has a pipe through his leg?

I for one would love to see the entire crew done in the outfits from ST II-VI. Not only did Playmates never do a complete crew in these uniforms, but they would go great with the Enterprise A they have already released.

The DC stuff was awsome. The playsets are really nice, especially that Batcave and the figures look great. I think the coolest figure was the Lex Luthor, Flash is pretty sweet to.

The Captain America minimate is also very cool. I can not wait to get my hands on it again. (I got to play with it a little bit there :) )

Totally agree! Galoob did the crew but they were like smaller than Joes, I really hope they make the rest of the crew!

Trek figures in the red and white movie uniforms are something I've been wanting for years. I still can't believe Playmates never released any despite all the one-episode figures they made(and no, the three underscaled, underarticulated figures in the Generations line don't count).

It was available thru one of the toy magazines, at the summer conventions and I believe it is still being offered to new members of the Art Asylum Collectors Club. He can be found online for around $6.00 - $7.00. He's in scale with the other Trek minimates - comes in at around 3" tall. This Kirk has the green shirt (instead of the yellow mass release) and comes with a couple of puff balls (like from a hobby store) as tribbles.

Ah, dang too bad...

Ya unless its tf, or motu(exclusive at that[motu wise that is) Then I don't go out of my way to get anything in @loll@

You, my friend, are missing out. Buy just one set of Minimates - then tell me you don't like them. If you don't I'll buy them from you. They're addictive.

Great pics of the Minimates JayC! The close ups of the individual figures (both Marvel and DC) were great! TNI is the only place I've seen photos like those and I really appreciat them.

On a side note, I think that Joker needs a little work on his face - he looks... odd. The smile is off - it should be wider, more menacing and crazy.
