New Tf Boards

2005 boards are ok, but ya, I've been there over a year and a half, and I still dont know anyone.. just way too many people, and no one gets to be good buds, like people seem to do here.

 

I mean, if ya can't join a message board full of people that are interested in the same thing as you, and not make any buddies.. what's the point in posting at all?

 

here on TNI. I have a lot of buddies. at least 10 that I talk to almost every day. my buddy list in my private message folder is over 25 people..

 

the only buddy I made friends with on 2005 is Josh.. in almost the same amount of time.

 

I mean, its a great site and everthing. they got great news coverage, but its just too.. public, or something.. I dunno.

If they merge the two boards it's going to feel like they are running our home over with a steam roller, just snatching it away from us. Keep both and give us the choice. Add to that, if the they are merged it's going to be lika hostile takeover.

So basicly you would abandone everyone else because you have to click your mouse more???? I don't get it. If the merge did happen (which it probably won't) it would be the same damn people. And the people is all that should matter.

It's not the same Adam, everything just feels so seperated over there. And I'm afraid the same thing is going to happen as CD stated about TFW2005. Like I said, it just doesn't have that small community feel to it anymore and that's what I liked the most about this message board. I love it here and i just don't want to leave it, it's like when you're a kid and your childhood home is sold. Maybe your new house is bigger and maybe even better but a piece of you will always stay with that home. I have a lot of fond memories of this place and it makes it very tough for me if it all goes caput. I just hope these boards stay

Im glad there was no merge.. cuz it would have felt like, the transformers community was trying to venture off on their own, away from TNI, or something. which is bad.

I'll be honest, when I first heard about the idea, I thought the same thing. While the idea of 'organizing' a topic is interesting, it wouldn't really be TNI (different color/syle, etc...), it'd be more of a 'spin-off', imo.

I check out (and sometimes post on) quite a few 'other boards' myself; but, none of them seem to bring in so many different groups of people. I could have 100's of posts on the other boards; but, when I look around here, I 'recognize' most of people on the board.

Recently a board that I've belonged to almost as long as this one 'merged'; and, while I see a lot of the same names, it just doesn't feel the same. I'd just hate to see that happen here.

Had you previously made an account called "abraxis" on Tformers.com ? They transferred there old accounts over so you should try it.

When signing up I got the mesage saying the name was already taken. I don't remember ever signing up for anything at Tformers.com, but I tried my password (I use the same password for everything from message boards to IRC) and it didn't work. Must be someone else decided to snag my name.

 

So if anyone ever see's an Abraxsis over there it isn't me.

You can still register guy, just use a different handly and put something like: "Abraxsis of TNI" in your signatures so that people know it's you.

I know I can still register under a name variation, I just don't really want to...lol. This is pretty much the only TF board I post on, so I wanted the name to be the same over there too, just in case, ya know, especially since they're kind of interconnected.

That's pretty much what Gradius said too. Unfortunatly I don't recall ever registering for anything at TFormers.com tho. All I've ever used that site for was following the news links from here. Never posted anything on it.

 

 

 

*Update* I found my old notebook with all my old not currently used email addresses. Apparently I did register over there a long time ago under the one yahoo account. Now my info is updated and I can read and post over on the new board. @HOTROD@

Yeah orginally we thought we could move all the threads and accounts over there and would just make those bords our TF section,

Thank god that didnt happen. Boards with that many forums for 1 toy makes the site slow. a Forth of the users are looking in news, another in toys, another in games, etc.... Here we see it all.

 

I read Transfandom's forums once in a while and you can post something and it wont even be viewed for like 20 minutes. Here it is immediatly viewed.

ya. and too many forums is not good. lol if the transformers section had all those forums.. it would have been crazy!! I would never be able to check them all.

 

I can't even check them all on TNI here now. There's lots of things im interested in and would love to chat with others.. like simpsons, smallville, starswars, but its a workout just trying to keep up with this forum. If it grew bigger!! man.. that would just kill me.
