Your Thoughts On Afa

Someone told me once that AFA stood for A##hole F--ing Anonymous.

Very educational - I agree though that AFA is a little subjective. Outsiders I think put it best when he sent his Snake-Eyes to get graded and got a lower grade than he expected.

Thanxs... Just make me feel better why don't ya... @lol@

And he offered it to me for like....$250-$300 bucks too...I said 'no',then he said he could probably get more for it on eBay. :(

I probably could get more for it but you whined and said you wanted it for like 100 bucks and free shipping as well... @smilepunch@

I was just trying to make a point @loll@ Anyhow, after your story, I am a little afraid to send my toys into afa, but hopefully, my toys will get the grade they deserve :)

There's 3 major grading services for sportscards, and I think the competition is healthy enough to keep the grading process fair. But afa being the only game in town could be detrimental to the fairness and quality of their service. Being a monopoly affords them certain "care less attitude if this joe is graded different from this joe" And how come if a big orange TRU sticker is covering up the GI part of the card it's no biggie but if there's a rectangle of TRU price sticker residue on the card, and you can now see the GI part now, that's a bad thing???

I think that unless there's a tear from the sticker...residue and actual sticker should both not count as a negative on the card.

I think the best solution is....if you got the joe to keep 'till your funeral then slap it in a starcase (pvc free) and admire it. And if you plan on sellin' it then maybe get it graded if you think it's worth the cost and time. But sellin' your moc's?? You must be in desperate times, my fellow afficionadoes...................................
