that eye gadget on the star wars insider looks kinda wierd but I noticed how it seems (at least to me) kinda OTish in technology. cool huh?

Well, I guess that's a nice step in the 'evolution'.

I'd like to know what the 'visor' is all about; except for Fett's 'antenna', all the other 'binocs' I've seen have all been hand-held.

[Note: posts on another board pointed out that this 'visor' appears to 'pivot'w/ an opening to fit over the head ridge]

 

I saw the game caps, but, I wasn't ready to draw any conclusions; the screen caps weren't that clear. Besides, imo, being in/from a game, it wasn't 'canon' enough for me. I was waiting for the upcoming Topps card set which was supposed to have an official preview.

You won't have to wait until E3 to see the new troopers in action. According to the Dark Horse boards, it appears the new troops will debut in Republic #68. Randy Stradley (VP of Publishing)

thinks that only certain troopers have the 'visor' (which appears to 'flip up'). The visor may have been shown to maintain a last bit of 'mystery'

Looks great, only the captains were the visors so relax.

Without the visor though he would look practically no different to a stormtrooper.

And the visor looks like crud.

If george wanted the 'evolution' he should have made the trade federation bots a bit more like clone/storm troopers.

Otherwise its just rushed.

No because the clonetroopers were for the republic and the battle droids were from the trade federation so the battle droids don't have anything to do with clones/republic/empire.

I don't care for the new design. I think they are trying way too hard to combine the two different helmet designs.
