Galvatron And Megatron

Just wonderin' and ponderin' about the evil, mighty, mechanical menace that is Galvatron....was he the same bot as Megatron??...if I remember correctly (it's been years since i watched and heard this ish) Mega fell into some lava (or something like it) on Char i believe and it recreated and reformated him into Galvatron.....is that correct?? I might have read in some comic book that they were two different/seperate beings...so I really don't know...gimme input

No Unicron changed Megs into Galvatron and when Rodimus threw Galvatron out of Unicron and into space, the lava pit is wherer he landed.

...which made for one of the best TF storylines ever! Galvatron going crazy when he meets his "old self" (Megatron) was just incredible. It really made you wonder what happened that made Galvatron hate his former self so much that he ended up trying to kill him. Great story arc, if you haven't read it - def. find the TPB or read it online if you can find that site that has all the Marvel TF books scanned and posted.

If you think about it... maybe they no longer are the same person... but were.

I mean... Megatron in the movie becomes Galvatron and with the dusting of Starscream proves he has some memories of his former self.

"Megatron is that you?" "Here's a hint"

But while attacking Ultra Magnus he says,

"I Galvatron will crush you (Ultra Magnus) just as Megatron crushed Prime"

He's referring to himself in the third.

No where else in the movie does anyone refer to Galvatron as having been Megatron...

 

But in FFOD Astrotrain says something about Megatron being a great leader, and Cyclonus says Galvatron was the great leader... Astrotrain shrugs and says,

"they were the same person"

 

After that. Well they no longer bring it up. Clearly through his actions one would think they were different people... after the movie it's solidified with Galvatrons insanity.

And never does Cyclonus claim to be Skywarp (or Bombshell to you blasphemers!)

 

My theory as of late is they are NOT the same person. Simply, Unicron could not create life... but could alter it. Sort of like Robo Cop. He needed there sparks to make his new minions.

in the comics galvatron has the same origin as the movie, its in target 2006, which went causing chaos until his end in the time wars

 

and the rhythms of darkness galvatron has the same origins but this one was loyal to unicron and so ended up killing rodimus and unicron ate cybertron and galvatron ruled earth

Megatron IS Galvatron. The combination of Unicron's grip being lost and the plasma bath made Galvatron GO NUTS!!! It even changed his voice.(Yeah we know Frank Welker took over from where Leonard Nimoy left off).

well skwarp,thundercracker,and insecticons are seperate from scourge,cyclonus,and sweeps.

i do belive megs and galv will be seperate characters in dw,this is why

 

megs in on junkion,galv will come to lead the decepticons to battle the autobots.pretty soon megs will come to town and join the battle[decepticons vs. devepticons vs. autobots]

 

megs and galv will realize the only way to defeat the autobots is to join forces.after the decepticons claim victory they realize that uni went undetected.[this is where it gets tricky]galv once again starts to fued with megs because uni controls him.megs orders the decepticons to attack uni because"cybertron belongs to the megatron,and no other".

meanwhile inside of the now transformed uni, mags[not hot rod,they wont make the rodimus prime mistake again]]will open the matrix to defeat uni.

 

witnessing the power of the matrix galv[now crazy,because of seperation anxeity]opens a hole to the armada universe in search of a matrix to claim for himself.

I still don't think DW will do something like that. THey already established that they are taking the movie and Season 3 into their own hands, hence they know about the movie's Megs into Galvy transition. I think that in DW continuty, Scourge and Cyclonus may be seperate characters but Megs WILL become Galvy.

Being the cartoon buff that I am, I always look at it the way the toon went. Basically I always look at it like this

 

Megs=Galvy

Thundercracker=Scourge

Skywarp=Cyclonus

Insecticon CLONES=Sweeps

Yes, just how it is in the toon. Watch Five Faces of Darkness again and you shall see what I am talking about. Also, in Starscream's Ghost, they make mention of Thundercracker's tomb.

On Glavatron's G1 tech specs he is listed as being the Decepticon City Comander. Ultra Magnua was listed as the Autobot City Commander, and Rodimus was listed as the New Autobot Leader. My assumption from that is Galvatron was going to start as his own entity and not be created from Megatron otherwise his Listing would have been Decepticon Leader.

 

The cartoon used his transformation to create what they felt was a good story line by having Megatron reformatted and over the years it just kind of stuck.

Galvatron is the Decepticon Leader, but on the tech spec he was printed as Decepticon City Commander because he was paired up to be Ultra Magnus' nemesis. Alot of people at Hasbro believed Magnus to be the Prime counterpart to Galvatron. You can see in the toon what I mean, most of the time Galvatron was battling with Magnus.

I always had my own theory (and it is just my theory) that Unicron did not turn Megatron, Skywarp, and Thundercracker into Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge. Rather, Unicron copied the designs, mindsets, and memories from Megs, Skywarp, and Thundercracker and created Galv, Cyc., and Scourge from those designs on the fly. Megatron, Skywarp, and Thundecracker are stored somewhere in stasis. Basically, it just allows the Megs, Sky, Thundercracker to possibly exist alongside Galv., Cyc., and Scourge.
