The "other" Coil

As I said in a previous post, I watched a slew of the old cartoons today and in an episode called "At Night We Creep" (Or something close to that) CC started a group called The Coil to take power away from Serpentor and Mindbender. His associates in doing this were Storm Shadow and Firefly (weird huh?)

 

To refresh your memory, this episode starred Cross Country hunting down Cobra because they stole his tape deck. Cobra had rat/snake hybrid looking robots taking stuff from the vents at GI Joe HQ.

I too remember the Coil - I just assumed Blaylock was using the Coil in the comis to touch on the cartoon in our memories, without bringing it into the comic universe.

"Into Your Tent I Will Silently Creep" I believe is the title of that episode. I liked it, though the main premise of it (Cross Country's tape deck being stolen) was a bit ridiculous. But, yeah, you're right n8dawgaic, it was the Coil.

I think you are right, Tom. I am fairly positive the cartoon is NOT considered "cannon", but they realize it was a large part of the original success and our childhood enjoyment, so they refer to it now and then.

 

And yes Sephron, going against a terrorist organization for a tape deck is a little...silly.
