Do The Quints Deserve Cybertron Back?

Hey guys,

I was thinking last night, about the Quints being forced off Cybertron and their constant efforts to reclaim it (as far as season 3 and some UK comics are concerned) And then it struck me - there's no defense for the Autobot's and Decepticon's claim to Cybertron! :o

The Quintessons were an established merchant/business race well before Cybertron was established. A group, or the entire species, migrated to a planetoid to establish a factory world. From there they would produce and sell their wares to whomever was interested. Whether or not they were "nice guys" is a non-issue - it was their world, they made it.

So eventually, the machines being built grew a personality, and by default, a backbone. They rise up on a global scale, turn the tables on the Quints, and the aliens flee for their safety. Basically, the Cybertronian uprising amounted to your dog and cat throwing you out of your own house... and then saying it's theres!

It's not as simple as one warring side conquered the other - the Autobots and Decepticons were not a recognized, established army, and the Quints legally owned their planetoid.

So, how would one argue this? Legally speaking, the Quints should have their planet back - not that I'd want them to @haha@

Look at it this way, if you have a kid, that child has the same right to the planet as the parent/creator. The quints are the TFs parents so I say the TF have a claim to it. Then the quints where forced to leave because they mistreated them. Whether created as slaves or not, TF evolved into living beings. So I'd say yes.

But then again these are my american human views.

I agree with that. Quintessence lost their planet because the Cybertronians rose up and took it from them. Now if the Quints want their planet back they will have to fight for it. It's just that simple. No country or planet or whatever will ever give up their PROPERTY without a fight.

I understand the legitimacy of revolution, and the following occupation, but that doesn't make up for things. The Quintessons built the Transformers under the impression that they were no more alive than a microwave oven... Just because they were given sentience from Vector Sigma doesn't mean the Quint's right to Cybertron was suddenly forfeit.

Even if the Quints started destroying robots that displayed individuality, which would amount to murder, it wouldn't make the planet any less theirs. They settled on it, the built it, they own it.

Perhaps draw a parellel with the present....

International law states that you can't own anything on other planets (well, it's a bit more complicated than that, but that's the jist of it). So all of these people buying plots of the moon are being ripped off by a smart businessman!

If the USA goes to Mars, as was announced this week, is it going to own the land that it lands the modules on, or will it just own the modules themselves?

I vote that the Quintessons have no right to Cybertron, just as they have no right to ownership of the TFs - just because you have a child, doesn't mean you own him/her!

Anyway, the Quintessons are pretty ugly and deserve everything they get :P

It's all about the programing. No matter where Autobots go, they protect and defend; no matter where Decepticons go they attack and destroy.

Cybertron (as stated in the first Season, first episode) is practically a dead planet. Energon is practically depleted from the planet. It's worthless pretty much.

Cybertron (as stated in the Movie) is eventually taken over by the Decepticons, only to later be smashed further by Unicron. Cybertron eventually returns to peace (Season 3) and prosperity after the Decepticons are banished to Char.

Right?

Well... the Quintessons come (back) into play in Season 3... an era where the Autobots are in total control of Cybertron. The Quintessons are the aggressors... the Autobots see this... and Defend. Automattically. And that's really it. Had they "peacefully negotiated" taking it back... maybe they'd have it. But no. And so they don't get it.

The planet didnt originally belong to the Quints (they just occupied it first). then created the TF who became living beings and claimed a natural right to the planet as well. All would have lived their peacefully if the Quints didnt wanna be slave drivers.

Kinda like Africian Americans having a right to the USA even though they were originally slaves and viewed as un equal.

That's not a fair comparison at all, SS. Black slaves always had an identity and deserved freedom... when the Quintessons made their robots, they were NOT sentient (Watch FFoD) They were granted minds of their own via Vector Sigma.

It's more like saying you're a painter, and all of a sudden your art is given a voice of it's own - and it demands you give up the studio to it. It's not sensical. Objects that were once lifeless, once granted life, doesn't make them any more worthy of taking what they want.

To be honest, I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here - I like the Quints as plot devices and all, but I'm just kicking around the idea of who really owns Cybertron for the heck of i t.

Transformers since they owned it first and Quintessons stole it and made them all mechanical.

...What?

*cough*Beast*cough*Machines*cough*

Are you simple or something? Firstly, I think everyone, even the most accepting of Transfans, are trying to forget Beast Machines. Secondly, the Quints didn't exterminate the species' found under the surface of the planetoid that would one day be Cybertron. They were fossils, which means they had to have died millions of years before the Quints even arrived, to have been buried so perfectly.

There was no natural geological continuity after their arrival - which means the soil heaped on those fossils was already there.

Lastly, it was the Matrix itself that told Rodimus the story of the Quintesson's arrival on Cybertron. At the time of their coming, Cybertron was a dead planetoid. Would the Matrix lie? Does it have the capacity to lie? I think not, not if it's the nexus of everything the Autobots are.

I feel REALLY bad for you if this, and your previous post, are the basis of what you think Transformers are.
