It just occured to me that Art Asylum/Minimates are the new Mego. I say this because not since Mego has any one company had so many different toy licenses from so many companies and mmost are in the same scale. I'm just wondring what license is next?

it is a shame that all of the minimates are not the same scale...that would really put it in mego country. But to be honest, I prefer the 2 inch marvels. I have the Kiss 3 inch and 2 inches are just more like original pocket superheroes from when i was a kid. The LOTR minimates are actually in 3 scales 2" hobbits, 2.5" human, 3" monsters...

But I am not complaining because i get captain america, batman, and superman all in the same line

I just hope they start buying up the rights to some Horror Minimates, I want a Jason to kick Peter Parker's arse. or a David Kessler from "An American Werewolf in London" to show Wolverine who da real dawq is! , Or Or Or Or Or, Oh God there are so many good choices!

I also wish all the minimates were in the same scale. I prefer the 2" minimates over the 3", even though they are slightly less posable. I'm actually considering skipping the LOTR minimates because the larger human minimates won't fit right with my Marvel characters.

sigh Art Asylum made the best and only choice with the Lord of the Ring Minimates, It was either that or not make any Hobbits or Gollum. And how often is Frodo gonna get his arse handed to him by Dr.Doom?, They don't need to be inscale and they simply can't be.

That's your opinion and you're certainly entitled to it. Just like I'm entitled to mine. All of the figures COULD have been the same size, but the people in charge decided to go with the 3 different scales. It seems that most people felt the way you do about it, and that's great. I just don't care for it. Please don't knock me for it.

Yes I do. They are block figures. Do you have a Hulk and Bruce Banner? If you do, then they are just as out of scale as a hobbit and human (or orc) would be, if not moreso. If I want figures that are in scale with each other, I'll buy the Toy Biz or Armies of Middle Earth figures, or even Toy Biz's Marvel Legends line. It worked for LEGO before they introduced the stubby legs for Yoda and the Ewoks and I believe it would have worked for the LOTR minimates as well.

Anyway, it's a moot point. The LOTR minimates will be released in three different sizes.

But the there are size requirements on the Marvel Figures, Do you seriously think that the Hulk would have been the same size if there weren't,

Don't know, but I guess we'll never know. If the Marvel and DC lines utilized different scales, then I wouldn't mind the LOTR line being different. We've kind of drifted off topic here, but I am glad AA is making LOTR minimates even if I don't like the scale. I hope to see more licenses in the future. :)

I completely agree. (The only thing I like about the scale is that Sauron is going to be HUUUUGE)

Kubricks aren't readily avalible in the US and many other places. That takes them out of the running, Plus they don't have DC Kubricks.

Oh yeah?

Batman Kubricks (available through Diamond)

Those aren't DC Kubricks, those are Batman Kubricks. While Batman is from DC, They lack a general DC thus proving that I am correct. @smilepunch@ ,
