For The Live Action Movie...

I don't think that they'd be a different scale from the regular 3 3/4'' figures, that's something that has been a typical constant in the RAH world and it's good to keep it that way as the 'main line'.

But I think that if the movie has some cool costume design and such, you'll be looking at some of the BEST G.I. Joe figures from Hasbro in a while.I really think Hasbro will put in their all for movie figures, they'll be highly detailed, painted and everything.Because all Hasbro has to do is look at the work Toy Biz has done with the LOTR figures,Spidey 1 & 2,even Hulk...that's the movie figure competition...not to mention McFarlane's stuff as well.

Usually movie figures are special things nowadays, especially considering how the toy market nowadays has really edged up on terms of pose-ability,details,and basic figure structure.

I also think that they'll keep the smaller scale also to incorporate a few vehicles that will show up in the movie.Which will also probably look great...

Hasbro has to attract both fans, kids, nostalgic 'casual' fans, and even movie-go'ers with the movie. And having a great movie toyline will help promote the movie further.

Personally, this whole movie scheme has me worried.

I'm guessing they'll come out with a video game tie in, which will probably blow as most movie games do.

I'm also guessing they'll try to make the figures look like the actors, and they'll fail. Miserably.

The toys will probably be more kid oriented, so I'm guessing that'll mean action features on most if not all figures. And I'm sure we'll get multiple versions of the same figures with different action features to reflect different parts of the movie. Look to the Spidey, X-men, and Hulk movie figures for an example. Just going with the current trends here...

The worst part of all: movie figures clogging (and possibly stinking) up the pegs so new releases (of the regular line) are difficult and frustrating to find. "But we can't/ won't put out new stuff until we sell the old stuff."

Ever heard that excuse? Yeah, me, too.

And my final guess (though I seriously hope I'm wrong): the movie will flop (at least it will in older collector's eyes). I hate saying that without knowing anything about it, and I will fully apologize if the movie turns out to be decent, but for some reason, I've got serious doubts.

I hate to be so negative about this, as I usually try to stay optimistic about all things Joe. This movie deal could potentially throw Joe back to the forefront of toys. It could give them a lot more space on the pegs and reinvigorate interest in the line a lot faster than the current products are. This would, in the end, mean more and better products for us. At the same time though, the movie could be a financial disaster, which would not be a good thing for Hasbro or for Joe in general. Here's hoping for good news. #US1#

If the movie is supposed to reflect the toyline, I don't see why they would have to make a seperate line for them. I'd suggest a couple of waves that reflect the exact costume designs from the movie. At the most, release them on cards displaying an photo of the actor. I'm thinking of the vintage Joe cards, with the full-body action shot of the character, except this one would be a real photo.
