Energon Optimus Comment

Recommended Posts

My friend who has been collecting complete TF series ever since 1996 Beast Wars recently picked up Energon Optimus Prime. He hates it, and I can't say I like it, though I do say I dislike it a lot less than he does. It took a small purchase on my part to realize why I don't seem to like it. I only have a small beef with the figure, and thats the color scheme. I noticed this when I picked up my Wal-Mart exclusive Landfill. I never really cared for the original Landfill that my friend had and I handled extensively, but the new version all in construction yellow I really like. The only explanation I can think of is the color. I really think the figure looks much better one color. I think the color scheme is really important for any combiner. All of the G1 combiners had color schemes that worked well together. So did RID Ruination and Rail Racer. Landfill did not. Neither does Energon Optimus Prime. The colors really have no rhyme or reason to them, they just seem thrown together, and it doesn't look that great. I'm kind of curious to see if they recolor this, as this could really use it. I like the figure otherwise, but the colors just suck.

Energon Prime is just a terrible Transformer with or without matching colors. He looks like a rejected Playskool Transformer, and I liked the Playskool Transformers.

I'm sorry I ever complained about Armada Prime.
