Dear Pogoman..

Well, I'm definitely going to buy another Takara MP-01 Optimus Prime and keep it MISB. Why? Because I already have one that I opened. After being unable to put it down after the first two hours, I knew that this toy was really something special. I really want an extra to keep factory fresh and safe to either replace the one I display or give to my kid one day (if I ever decide to settle down have one...). I'm hoping that Optimus will get released with his trailer in a huge-ass giftset, 'cause then I'll definitely have keep one of those MISB as well.

Anyway, I think some people are buying the Japanese version to keep MISB and are planning to buy the US version to display or transform.

Ah ha! You see? You'll only know if you open the box!

So, you'll only know how good MP Prime "tastes" if you open the box and set him free :) He's rendered totally inoperable until you release him from that cardboard prison and the tortorous twist-ties.

Masterpiece Prime is a classic case where love for the toys come into play. I have ordered a large number of mp primes (large considering its more than 4) one of them was to be opened. hands down, this is the one you have to open folks.

But friendship comes in first and my friends had asked me to get them one, so I decided to give the one that I was to get opened to them.

collecting is fun, but friendships are better and I've met some good folks here on the boards.

ps. so til I get another order in, yes, I will open MP Prime. No doubt.

pss. oh, I'm sure cornflakes taste good but I'm a cocoa krispies guy.

...replace the one I display or give to my kid one day (if I ever decide to settle down have one...)....

Thats the best reason Ive ever heard for keeping something misb , I dont want to start yet another flame thread about misb vs loose because ultimately it all helps sales and provides me with more figures , but I cant see the point of keeping them misb , especially if you dont plan to sell them anytime soon.

there's those collectors that are in for the investment and those for the nostalgia of it. Just like there's loose collectors that love to display their stuff loose and those who like to play with them or customize them.
