Star Destroyer Wave

From the Hasbro site, it's the Star Destroyer wave w/ Adm. Ozzel, Bossk, and Dengar. No extra surprises, but, they do have a little extra articulation and lots of detail. Unfortunately, no mention of the next set.

Ozzel: Looks really nice. The color of the uniform seems way off. Hopefully that will be fixed. The body looks basic enough that it could be reused to make almost any other Imperial officer.

Dengar: I've wanted a better Dengar since I started collecting and now that we are going to get one I'm thrilled. He's the best of the three.

Bossk:

The PotF one was the first basic figure I got in the new line and it is still one of my favorites. So while I am interested in seeing how Hasbro, with their now far superior sculpting abilities, will handle him this time unless it completely wows me I will probably skip it.
They didn't wow me enough to say I'm definitely going to get it but that is one sweet looking Trandoshan so I'll probably get it someday.

For future reference... :)

Admiral Ozzel

Bossk

Dengar

Adm. Ozzel: I've been wanting Imperial officer 'army builders ' for a while. Motti had the right 'torso'; unfortunately, the POTJ/Saga version had the wrong uniform. Ozzel starts the ball rolling again; w/ head/color (/rank bar??) variants, we could be on to something :)

Bossk: I've been pretty happy with the POTF2 version (how often can you say that?) It's no where near the top of my list, but, I may get it.

Dengar: Now this is a resculpt I've wanted for a while; that 'one armed long rifle hold' has annoyed me for a long time . I almost tried a custom w/ sandtrooper; thankfully, I won't have to now.

I think the Bossk has a new head sculpt but the rest of the body is from the figure from the POTF2 Line. The arms also look different to me, but I think its more a change in coloring than actual resculpted arms.

I like all three figures, although I do wish they'd have given a more articulated pose for Bossk. Whenever I see these I will get them!!!

Nope, it's definitely a new sculpt. There are differences in the various wrinkled up places on his flight suit (right shoulder & knees are the most noticeable). Plus there's the articulation at the elbows/biceps & the fact the black parts around the shoulders are much thicker on this new one. Hasbro really outdid themselves with this. They actually improved on an almost perfect figure. Especially the head. That's just marvelous.

Not really much to Dengar's look for them to really work with. "Johnny Cash burn victim". This one DOES look somewhat better than previous incarnations and the added articulation helps.

I always found the guy more appealing characterwise than in appearance. His story in "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" was pretty good.

Bossk looks a bit more menacing. Shame we never get to see him and Chewie tangle

Ozzel looks fairly movie accurate. Always nice to see more Imperial Navy characters, particularly the ill-fated higher brass.

And the stands are welcome additions to the line. Shame it took several years for them to finally get around to doing them. Let's hope these are permanent additions.

Great points Doc. And I've wanted a new Dengar ever since that half-baked one came out in the POTF2 line. And I agree with you about the stands; makes me wonder if they'll be available by themselves so we can all back up and use them on older figures. Hmm. Hope so!

Thanks.

I guess whats improved with this Dengar & Bossk besides the articulation of course, is that they look grittier. These guys ARE the galaxy's most formidible bounty hunters right after Fett and it shows a little more here. More poseable versions of 4-LOM and Zuckuss are in order next. I can never get enough of those bounty hunters.

I just wish Hasbro would make figure stands standard issue with both the RAH re-issues AND new sculpt GI Joes. Though I suppose theres not much of a point for the new sculpts, as the softer plastic legs make it difficult for their pegholes to maintain their grip on the peg.

I wanted a Admiral Ozzel figure for year and now it about time they did. I saw the picture and the sculpt is the best and the same is with the new Bossk and Denger too.

Unfortunately, no mention of the next set.

I wouldnt worry. The only thing faster than light is news about new Star Wars figures.

With the subsequent complaints and condemnations of Hasbro coming in a very close second. @hvg@ Hee hee...

That's what I get for not editing my post :P

They've since confirmed the "Battle of Endor" asst.; and the"Dagobah" set should be confirmed by this weekend at toy fair.

Idon't know about actual news being that fast; rumors and confirmed reports, though.... ;)
