Looks Like Enterprise Is Re-writing Trek History

Well in last nights episode the Time guy admited to Archer that Time was being re-written and that the events that were transpiring now have never been recoreded before. Looks like they are going full-throttle with changing everything now.

Haven't seen the ep in question, but it sounds like its as I suspected: divergent timeline.

If this is still true, then its not a good sign if the storyline/story arch can be so easily telegraphed.

I hope they throw some curves to keep it interesting.

There's nothing that says they can't "fix" time, either. And for all we know, the future guy (Crewman Daniels) may be from a future that's not supposed to happen. A lot of people think Enterprise is going to change established Trek history, but they could easily be laying the foundations of it. After all is said and done, it could end up that all changes in the timeline will end up leading to the 22nd and 23rd centuries we know and love, rather than altering them.

That's what I think too.

There are so many ways that they can deal with this due to the fact that the story is based on temporal disturbances from the beginning. They can even find a way to make it make sense that Archer is an unknown in the future Star Treks.

We never heard of the expanse in Star Trek lore, so somehow it's going to have to be destroyed. Not to mention it must be close to Earth since the current enterpise can get there so quickly at warp 4.

I'm sure they'll tie up all of these loose ends by the time the show finishes. I must say though, that I'm ready for some more space adventures, to often in recent episodes have they found a way to have the crew in some kind of out of date past/alternate earth type thing. Its been like three episodes in the last four.

An interview with Brannon "F**k the fans" Braga has him quoted as stating that Ent is NOT an alternate timeline and that everything they have done fits seemlessly %100 into continuity,

"Yes, it is definitely a prequel. It's not an alternate timeline, of course not. The only criticism about the continuity that has any merit at all - although I think in the end it is wrong - is that we're changing the Vulcans. That's just absolutely not true. If you look at the way the Vulcans behave [on Enterprise], they're exactly the way they've behaved on Star Trek.

Try as I might, I cant remember Vulcans being dishonest, rude, raising their voices, keeping humanity oppressed by holding them back from space or dressing provocatively in spandex to show of their womanly curves (Which would be illogical for a species who view sex solely as a neccessary evil only to be dealt with once a decade) Spock exaggerated once to bluff Khan and Tuvok has employed subterfuge to infiltrate the Maquis. But those were totally different situations as a greater good called for it. I see no semblence of them wanting to do any sort of greater good when Bermanized Vulcans deceive in Enterprise.

"In terms of the alternate timeline, I don't understand why people think that. I'm not exactly sure. What's changed? What's so different that they think this must be an alternate history? In terms of the Temporal Cold War stuff, I don't really think anything has happened to change history.

As much as Id love it to be a big reset button with the crew having happy endings in the real timeline after valiantly saving it. It seems clear that that ISNT what they want. Looks like Enterprise is in the timeline to stay.

Though it would be a really cool twist if somehow Future Guy turned out to be Archer himself .
