actually, in the latest toyfare they did a gi joe casting call, and most of the cast was right on the money (except keanu reaves as snake eyes...wtf? i guess he doesn't have to talk but...yeesh)...anyway, they had funny stuff like bruce campbell as flint...but by far the best choice was gary oldman as cobra commander. it would definitely work.

On the subject of Metallica as Joes, Rob Trujillo could be Burnout. He has a good resemblance to him physically. Facially and in his overall body build.

i think that there isnt really any actor out there good enough to play CC and do the voice in the live action movie, so what i hope they do is do what they did with darth vader, have some actor play CC, and have (i forgot his name) the guy that played CC's voice in ST the movie play his voice

Brent,that's a good idea actually.They could have someone just do the voice for him like James Earl Jones did for Darth Vader.There is a mask on CC either way (faceplate or hood) so you won't necessarily be seeing his mouth moving.

 

I wouldn't mind Michael Dobson (the new CC from Spytroops the Movie) doing it,but the dialogue will have to be toned down and CC will have to act less psychotic to be taken as a serious villain in the flick.

john malkovich is good, but i think he lacks the ham-it-up quality that you need for cobra commander. that's why i think gary oldman is a perfect choice (yeah i realize the whole thread is a joke, but seriously). i mean gary oldman is a great character actor, and he knows how and when to be outrageous. he's played lee harvey oswald, the devil, a diabolical futuristic supervillain with a redneck accent, and a horribly disfigured millionaire bent on revenge. combine them all and you get cobra commander!

On a serious note, I think that if anyone did CC's voice, I wouldn't mind seeing Anthony Hopkins do it.

 

If at all possible, I wish I could do it myself. I have my own ideas of how CC could be as a villain(voicewise and other things)

i dont care who plays CC.... noone will ever match the voice of chris latta. EVER!!! and in my eyes if you cant get that high pitched voice, dont even try to match it. i say they do a computer generated voice over to sound like latta's. then you have a perfect cc for whoever it is behind the mask.
