Good grief that Fireflight looks cool. But y'know what? Just like Snow Cat, Fireflight seems to be based on the X-19 Phantom stealth fighter plane from G.I. Joe. But that's a GOOD thing. Some people may see it as Hasbro running out of ideas and having to resort to G.I. Joe designs. But I see it more as a long overdue practice as the G.I. Joe and Cobra vehicles are very cool and translate well into Transformers IMO.

Fireflight is actually a repaint of Beast Machines Spystreak. So snowcat would actually be the only Tf based on a GIjoe design. IMO it's a bit early to say they are running out of ideas.

 

But believe me, I really hope they keep making GIJoe designs into TFs. Would be great

Same goes for me. I'd be very surprised if the Canadian Wal Mart stores will carry these figures.

Walmarts in Canada will not carry any of the stores exclusives unfortunately.

I believe he has been confirmed a US Wal Mart exclusive along with Desert camo Ruination sadly. That means even more toys the we won't be getting here in Canada.

Not sure synch. I don't see any logic in having DC only ship in one wave, and then have more Tankorr/Obsidian's ship. I haven't seen the case myself, but if someone does, let me know what is in it.

One thing I don't understand is what is the point of these guys coming with Mini-Cons when it doesn't appear that any of them have mini-con ports. Whirl might on the tail, but the others don't look like it.

 

I'm curious about Whirl. Since Universe is just a repaint line, anybody know where this guy comes from?

Check out transformers.com in the news sections. They have pictures of Magna Stampede, Whirl and Stockade.

 

As for Doomlock and Offshoot, nobody really knows, although someone said that Offshoot is a repaint of Signal Flare.

I couldn't find anything about Offshoot on transformers.com when I looked.

 

Personally, I wish Hasbro would stick to one style of naming. Either save the new names for new toys and use the same name for repaints OR name ALL new toys (including repaints) with new names.

 

Treadbolt is just a repaint of Scavenger (or Offshoot a repaint of Signal Flare). They should have just called them Scavenger and Signal Flare respectively and saved the names Treadbolt and Offshoot for NEW toys.
