Wow, I must be the only loser with no Job that could get these and read them today early...

...

First thought, lots of talk on Shockwaves behalf. Lots of revealing stuff which was cool... but why do bad guys have to do that BEFORE killing the good guys.

"You're almost dead, let me tell you my plot now, then you can get up and foil me."

Brad Mick started issue 1 with so much potential, and it all went kinda downhill... what was Scourge doing on Earth? What did those humans want with him? Why was Starscream even on the cover of an issue when he did almost nothing? Soundwaves unholy alligence, what was so unholy? If Mensor was in a detention chamber how did he get his Earth Mode Alt. Form? (the explanation stunk there) Why did they totally not use Megatron in this series? What is Wreck-Gar doing at the end? What was up with the Unicron summoning in Issue 5, why did it have nothing do to with the rest of the series? And since when can Ultra Magnus do that? Looks like Anti-HatePlauge Prime to me. It was cool... but I don't like it for continuities sake.

Overall in my opinion it wasn't fair that this whole series was just something leading up to the ongoing. It was a great idea (while the Transformers are battling on Earth they find out someone unitied Cybertron) but it just didn't have enough glue to hold it together. I liked it, but I expected just a bit more after issue 1...

I'll say more after I finish dinner...but for right now, all I gotta say is this:

Thank PRIMUS that Brad Mick is this damn good!

I know I'm not the only one grinning ear to ear due to how Ultra Magnus saved Optimus Prime from annihilation....WOW.

And the end? Wreck Gar?

My mind is just BLOWN.

Two thumbs WAAAY up!!!

THis was definately a FANTASTIC READ. I am suprised this did not get PINNED!!!!

SHockwave's plot was definately revealing, and I am glad they brought that chapter to a close. SHockwave was behind DW's whole continuty. Indeed interesting. Wreck Garr's appearance was very welcome. From what I can see, he is the one to fix Megatron. WHite Ultra Magnus was very cool. He never did that before, but was able to as a toy. The only thing left un-attended was Scourge's reason for being where he is. THat subplt will be taken care of in the G1 ongoing #0!!! Also, I think those protoforms are the Combaticons judging from what he said. The thing is, what happened to him. Were did they go?

I was glad to see Defensor in action again, but what about Omega Supreme?

I did pin this guys and someone unpinned it. But I agree - it was a very good read and really does lead us into the new ongoing series. I thought Grimlock was hilarious in this issue and really characterized well by Mick. I enjoyed this series way way more than the first one and all I can say is - bring on Unicron and Galvatron :)

@grumpy@ @grumpy@ HOORraayyyyyyyyyy FOR THE WHITE MAGNUS CAB APPEARANCE!!!!!!!!!! It's official! Now my Magnus Cab Toy finally had a background story! @loll@ @loll@ @loll@

Wow, I must say 2 thumbs up from me for Brad Mick, this issue definitely gets an "A". This guy really deliver, bravo, well done!!!

Now we know:

1 - Shockwave was the responsible for the crash of Ark II

2 - Cybertronian had Earth form because Shockwave planned of conquering Earth.

3 - Now we know why Shockwave is so damn stronger than Prime/Magnus because: "The Energy Transfer Modules (ETM) enable him to sihphon power directly from Cyberton and its inhabitants maximizing his operating systems as well as maintaining all those who have been formatted with an ETM (such as Magnus, the rest of the autobots and decepticons)"

4 - Shockwave was the one who responsibled in re-activating both the Autobots and Decepticons.

5 - The great Shut Down of Cybertron is actually a normal maintenance cycle for the planet in order to regenerate itself.

Yep, awesome ending. Magnus ditching his "armor" was an inspired idea. And the final page was truly classic, especially the dialogue he used for Wreck-Gar (remember who played Wreck-Gar & what else he's done...). @loll@

Bring on the on-going series! @firedevil@

@grumpy@ @grumpy@ Yup, this issue is definitely awesome. Kudo to Brad Mick for his writing, lol I love how Grimlock and Magnus bashed each other at the end lol.

It's ashame that some of posters at DW bashed Brad Mick despites his wonderful work. Well, you can't satisfy everyone. Anyhow, Vol 2 in my book excel Vol 1 by a long mile. It's nice to see DW improve the TF storyline.

I read it last night twice and I loved it. I love how they showed the Ultra Magnus white cab form, Defensor in action, and Sky Lynx capturing the Decepticons! I can't wait for the new series. Hopefully they will have an on going series instead of doing it by 6 issues.

Bravo Dreamwave and Brad Mick for this excellent series! #US1#

Just read it. Time for my two cents. DW TF naysayers beware!

What can I say? This series has to be my favorite of all time. The thick plot, the number of characters and their spot on characterization, the epic feel, the mysteries both solved and unsolved.

What did I find the coolest revelation so far? That the Transformers and their home world were created for a single nefarious purpose- to conquer worlds. Both themselves, Decepticons and Autobots alike, and their homeworld, were fashioned with one objective in mind. To conquer. And if they don't perform as they were intended? A failsafe mechanism, a great shut down, to bring things to a halt, and then to start over again, until they become what they were born to be. Living weapons, united.

Who made them? According to Shockwave, the "answer remains hidden on Earth". After this, we are left hanging to wonder, "What could Earth have to possibly do with knowledge of Cybertron's existence and the Transformers creation?" Stay tuned.

Of course, many other questions yet remain, which is how it should be. Shockwave bites the dust before he's able to tap into the knowledge of Vector Sigma using its key, the Matrix. What roles do Scourge, Unicron, and Alpha Trion play in the grand scheme of things? As Shockwave hints at, the Elders of Cybertron did not desire that their race come to know the true nature and purpose of their existence. Alpha Trion, being one of those Elders, no doubt knows what the Transformers really are.

So my favorite TF character of all times bites the dust. :x As disheartened as I was to see it, it was good to finally see Magnus lay the smack down on Shockers after he played him like a fiddle for so long. The style in which he did it, as the White Convoy, was simply awesome. Looks like we finally got to see the matchup to the end we knew was coming, eh Remy? But Shockwave will be back. After all, he's got to finish retrieving the data he uploaded from Vector Sigma using the Matrix into his personal 'laboratory' to determine more of the Transformers past.

A couple points I didnt like. First, I was hoping for more of a personal battle between Grimlock and Blitzwing, a one on one saber duel ending with Blitzwings head flying off, or something to that effect. Instead, he just picks him up and throws him off a Sentinel. Second, and probably the weakest point, was Pat's art at the end was not clear at all on how Magnus defeated Shockwave. I mean I see he pulls the power tube on Shockwaves arm, but then there is just an explosion. From what? This much anticipated battle should have ended with more clarity and less "huh?" to it.

And who would have predicted Megatron turning up as Wreck Gars guest? Too bad some fans didnt get the "Holy Grail" reference that Wreck Gar gave upon discovering Megatron. For all those Megatron fans out there, its official. Megatron still functions!!! And not as Galvatron. :)

I agree with Optimus Gehn. All the negativists, had the great expositions not been given in this issue, would have whined that the story was not brought to sufficient closure. Now, they complain that too much information was given. Some people you just can't please. I mean, find me a flawless TF story, and I will quite buying these comics altogether.

All in all, this issue gets a "A" and so does the series. Light years better than the first G1 and several levels better than Furmans The War Within. The unaswered questions and the unsolved mysteries leave me anxiously awaiting the upcoming G1 series.

What do we have to look forward to? Can't wait to see the Wreck Gar/Megatron interaction, the Starscream and his lackeys trapped inside the belly of Sky Lynx situation (that should be amusing, to say the least), and of course the new direction of an Autobot ruled Cybertron.

With Brad Mick and Don Figueroa at the helm, comic Transfans have something to really look forward to.

@loll@ @loll@ First of all, well said and put!

As for your question:

Magnus rip the hose/cable off from Shockwave gun hand that connect onto a nucleur reactor on his back pack. Unfortunately, the coloring was a little bit dark that you couldn't barely see Magnus was holding the cable/ hose. However, the panel within that panel, clearly show the disrupted hose/cable while a light of spark that was still flashing. Overall, Pat didn't do a good job in penciling those panels.

As for what cause the explosion onto Shockwave, it's very simple. If you looked at the previous panel, Shockwave was about to fire onto Prime. So at that particular second, Magnus randomly ripped off the Cable/Hose just as the Nuclear Reactor was about to discharge from Shockwave gun hand causing that explosion.

Ah, thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one who got the joke. @firedevil@

Awesome issue!!!

Everything about this rocked!!! I loved how everything tied together well, from the first miniseries to facts here and there, it all made sense. The remaining plot threads that are unresolved only make the new ongoing series all the more appetitzing.

Grimlock was great. I'm not a total fan of him as others are, but he is a cool character, and this issue was a wonderful showcase.

Starscream and his boys were funny with Skylynx. That shoudl be interesting to play out or crash, when the new books start.

Poor Shockwave.....

But, mind you I went through the book once or so, but are you guys sure about Shockwave's defeat? Prime shot some monitors and there were loose wires hanging down. You sure Magnus didn't grab on of those to electrocute Shockwave? Shock the Shocky (thanks Peter Gabriel).

@loll@ @loll@ No, the wire would be to high up for Magnus to reach it since he was pretty much on the ground. The electrocute wire wouldn't cause an explosion which knock both Shockwave and Magnus into the pit.

Secondly, if you look at the panel where Magnus used his hand to reach the back of Shockwave who was about to fire at Prime, you'll notice he didn't hold any wire. The panel after that, showed a close up shot of Magnus hand ripping the cable/hose off from Shockwave gun hand that connect onto his back which store the Nucleus Reactor.

It's the nucleus reactor which was about to fire from Shockwave gun hand but was disrupted by Magnus that cause the explosion.

@loll@ @loll@ I don't think Prime was hitting for a diverging when Magnus life was at risk. Prime was actually aiming at Shockwave from the back, noticed Prime target viewfinder said, "frame lock", on Shockwave. Shockwave must aware of the situation with Prime, moved his head to avoid the hit, and so the target ended up hitting Victor Sigma.
